People who follow 1 gm per body pound usually are taking in too much protein. And 20gm thing doesnt go for everyone. When i started taking protein i had bad stomach aches b/c i was taking too much....now i can take much more with no effect. Besides absorbtion rates are different for every person. If you only count out and take 20gm per shake chances are you will only absord 15gm tops, which is why you should take in more. The goal is to have a constant supply of good nutrients in you stomach so that at no point your muscles are starving for anything.
