you have to be pushing alot of power or have a really poor tune to worry about the 4g63 pistons. heck the NA 4G64 pistons are good to 13-15PSI no problems, probably more but they get replaced with rebuilds to lower the CR a little.

your brake fade is more likely the pad compound than it is the fluid. boiling fluid doesnt feel like fade, it feels like you have a spongy pedal. fade feels like you're pressing the pedal but its not doing as much stopping as it should. 2 pretty different feelings.

dot4 should be fine, just keeping fresh fluid in there is more important. fluid should be changed about every 2 years, more often if you live where its very damp and humid.

as for pads, hawk hps pads seem to be pretty darn good. some people complain that they squeek or squeel, i havent had any of that. they are a bit on the dusty side. theres other pads out there, but i dont have personal experience with them. check out a site like tire rack and see whats available for your car.

when it comes to rotors, plain rotors are just fine. slotted are ok too, but wear the pads slightly faster. drilled are much much more prone to cracking and breaking than regular or slotted rotors are.

ok il check the pads then i did want hawk but couldnt get them at the time living in the u.k its pretty hard for some products to get and time aswell and they needed to be done quickly. so it wouldnt harm to go dot 5.1 at the same time?

i know all about the discs i had drilled on my old clio williams and they cracked within a year so i changed to grooved and they were the best. i know ebc make a racket as i had them on my old skyline red stuff they were awful as they got rid of mose of the asbestos and caused noises. but if hawk or good then ill go for them. untill project mu come up with a caliper and disc for the 95-99 gst eclipse! thanks for all your help mate and nice chatting to you aswell

dot 5.1 is obscenely expensive and generally pretty hard to find. just get some off the shelf dot4 from a local autoparts retailer.

hmm thats not too bad, but still pricey considering the gains will be nil over dot4 unless you're doing some SERIOUS road course racing.

450F or 230C dry boiling point is PLENTY high from 99% of driving.
