98 GS Spyder Conv / Headers?
Apologize if this is a stupid question, I've spent alot of time trying to figure this out but finally figured I should just ask for some help.
I'm having a very hard time finding new headers for my 98 Eclipse Spyder Conv (2.4 4G64 Non Turbo) Every header for the 4G64 NT on offer seems to be for 00 models on up. Will these still fit on mine? Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

hey i have one to except i have to get mine running befor i even think about headers but anyways i've been told yes but there is some moding needed i was told that the exhaust hangers would have to be cut and then welded
how ever i've also read that the 4g63 headers are a straight bolt on but not sure go to 4G64 Performance - Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS very good info but my girl has a 04 lancer es with the same 2.4l motor just little differnces like reversed intake and individual coil packs on each spark plug but as far i can see they have the same bolt pattern the only thing i'd check on is the were it connects to the down pipe just see if it's straight or does it have a little 45 deg. twist i'd say check out some pics of the two and compare or if you have a friend with a 3g check it out. let me know what you come up with. |

Thanks for the advice K2.
I'm getting conflicting information here. This website says that the 4G63 NT 1 Gen headers should fit. 4G64 FAQ This website says something different 4G64 Spyder Performance Upgrades Page If 00 RS/GS headers DID fit there are plenty available. I'm going to go talk to my mechanic hopefully get some specs from him and see what we come up with. I'm also looking at cold air intakes, which is a b*tch on its own. I was looking at this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Parts...=p4506.c0.m245 and if that dosen't fit, would this help? http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/de...l?reviews=true Excuse my ignorance I am very very far from an expert. I never would have believed it was so hard to find parts for a reasonably common car. Grrrrr Last edited by Frankie1; 10/06/2008 at 04:40 AM. |
