If you're into backend programming, the 2 main languages people use now is .NET (ASP.Net, C#, etc...) and Java. Of course some would use Ruby, Python and

even C/C++. But your best bets are .NET or Java.
Front end wise, be damned good with CSS and HTML first. Then you can move on to other script based languages like PHP, Perl, Ruby, etc...
