single exposure. you need to make sure the room is COMPLETELY dark. the exposure as seen above is 10 seconds. because the room is so dark the camera can't "see" my body or arm moving because there is not enough time to expose the arm in any one particular spot. my arm rested in place at the end so for the couple of seconds it was there it exposed it there. the flashlight however is bright so it exposes it as it moves across the scene.
