I've located a copy of the old 3G FAQ, last updated 2001:

3rd Generation Eclipse FAQ

I had downloaded the FAQ a couple of years ago onto a drive on a now unused computer. Recently installed the drive on new pc, found the FAQ and then found above link inside the FAQ, still active.

It would be useful to repost at least some of this FAQ back into the forums.
