Only reason to get something different would be finding something cheaper or tuner recommends a different brand.

I have an LC-1 and would recommend it. It survived my recent engine fire and a hose down from the fire department. It was actually still on during the fire and hosing since in panic mode I forgot to turn the ignition off.

Only issue I've had is finding a serial to usb(rs-232) cable that works with it. I bought a generic brand from amazon and didn't work, one from radioshack didn't work, and ended up buying a used one from bestbuy and haven't had a problem. Innovate sells one on site but to save a couple bucks as long as it uses the prolific driver chip set then there shouldn't be any problems. RS-232 is pretty dead in the consumer world but innovate has some sound logic behind why they still use it. Innovate doesn't have the best customer service according to their forums but I've never dealt with them personally.
