What did you do to the 3G today?

Hey guys i started one of these threads at my other forum and it took off pretty well.
I figured id give it a shot here and see where it goes.
So as the title says "What did you do to your 3G today?"
Post your mods or even simple repairs.
It'll be fun to check in and see what everyone did today and maybe get some ideas from everyone.

This thread is alot more interesting if pics are included so keep that in mind.

ill start it off with my random tinkering i accomplished today.
Made a simple custom CIA.
Nothing fancy my stock intake set up was cracked and taking up too much room.

Relocated my coolant resevior.

So lets see what you guys got...

I looked at my cancer black 3G with disgust as I always do. The paint is horrid. Been using it as a winter car although we haven't had much of a winter at all.

I feel you on that one. My black Spyder is in the garage for the winter (though I drive it when the weather is decent, like last night), but when the warm weather comes I will want to drive it more, even with the cancer. I can't see it from the driver seat.

This morning I bought a cruise control switch, and this afternoon I bought a power antenna, both from Members of this site. ETA on the paint job is unknown.

Went through and lubed up the shifter assembly; then after some highway abuse I topped off the tank (damn gas prices gonna break me). Also found a leak in my radiator hose, going to get that replaced ASAP.

Making a list of all the parts I'm going to have to buy new to put my car back together so that I can get another 10 years out of him. Bumper, foam bumper, hood, fenders, weather stripping, rugs, center console, dash, and lastly a real black paint job. Going two-tone Black and silver. I'm at about 1,300 before the paint job. Oy Vey.

HA! Like that's gonna happen...

Forgiveness is always easier to get than permission, trust me. Been married for 15 years this coming May.

Or, you could do this: Promise your wife that for every dollar you spend in car audio, you'll put a dollar into a jewellery fund for her. Once your done the system in the car, blow "her" money on something shiny, sparkly and expensive. Marriage is as much about management as it is compromise.

I agree, just celebrated 10 in September. "Look dear, it is compatible with your iPhone, so you can listen to YOUR music."

Today I think I am going to do the Seafoam treatment on the car, it worked wonders on the truck. Approaching my first year with the car, and I think the previous owner neglected it pretty bad. I would be surprised if they ever put > 87 in the gas tank. Found a receipt when I first bought it that was for like $3.00 in gas.

Well it was a slow day at the shop today, so I decided to change my timing belt, water pump, and accessory belts. Oh, and make a new boot screen for my stereo.

I know it's not my Eclipse, but yesterday was a little slow as well (stupid small towns); so I decided to swap out the factory Infinity crap stereo in the shop van with a double din DVD/NAV and eight new component speakers.

Original:

Process with cutting, shaping and filling etc:

And the hacked OS Load screen I made for this one too:

I replaced my spark plugs, wires, cap, and rotor only to find out that wasn't my problem.

Got the engine and everything hooked up. Just need to throw on exhaust, tires, hood and splash gaurd! Then I will have my stocker back, with way too much time invested in it!

guido8000 needs to be reminded to breathe.
today i checked to see if my phenolic manifold spacer is going on the car or in the trash. If the EGR pipe doesn't bolt up Ima chop the thing in half. Too many problems trying to mod this thing.

New headlights installed today!

Recently debadged, the turn signals (and side marker/reverse lights) were blacked out, and the plastic fake vent pieces were painted black.

I cleaned out the interior of mine for the first time since 2009. Found about $50 in change and two of my missing socks. Took about 4 hours to vacuum, clean the windows, and shine up the interior plastics. I bet if I removed the seats I could find another $20.

I took apart the console all the way to the dash. I also took apart the automatic shifter housing and washed that dirty little flap of plastic in there and then painted the housing black.

I found a rockin mechanic who opened up his shop to me to be used anytime (thank god for the kindness in some peoples heart) and we swapped my drums for disk brakes, finally.

I would show you the pics I took but I left my camera as collateral untill I pay him in the next few days. I will be posting those pics soon.

What offset do you need in order for the 3kgt calipers to clear?

I believe GTSPeru has 3kGT brakes without spacers on GTS wheels. I'll look around though.

Nice... thank Matt. I would probably go that route, though I haven't compared the costs of it to an Evo brembo set-up. But for sure it'll cost less, I'd like to know at least the margin between them.

I was going to install new struts, springs, front control arms, and do a rear disc conversion but then the allen hole on one of my front sway bar links decided to strip out and halted the whole process...
