It does sound really good from the sound clips ive heard. I havent seen anybody on here with that exhaust though. Not a bad price for it either. I think it's much better than that (ricer looking)super medallion racing exhaust they have for the 3g's.

Tanabe Medallion G Concept,

Has anyone ever heard the Tanabe G Concept with headers? Would it have any rasp with RPW long tube headers?

SoCaL03GTS : who are you?
The car that is in the soundclip is mine. Tanabe USA used my car for R&D. I absolutely love the exhuast. Great sound, and there was a difference in power. I am currently saving up for headers, so hopefully within the next couple of months, I will have them on. Once that happens, I will definitely post a sound clip for you guys.

Here is another sound clip of the exhaust I did at home.

I actually was thinking about that exhaust. However I did not like the fact that it is angled out the back. I did not want the hassle of paying to get this corrected so that it is positioned straight out the back. But yeah it did sound pretty good in those clips.

Go with the Skunk2. I just put mine on today and I would tell anybody to buy this over the very popular Greddy. The Greddy is not bad but, trust me this exhaust puts the Greddy to shame. I bought the fully polished Skunk2 for $375.00 shipped. I had to modify one support bracket to get the muffler centered. It was just a little to close to the body for me where the exhaust cutout is. If I can find where the camcorder is buried I will post up a sound clip of it.

well since i am a fed spec, i will be modifying exhaust anyway, so either it will stay angled if i get it or i can correct it, its either that or Invidia

I am not being biased because I have an invidia, but I hear a slight bit of rasp and its only a catback. I bet with headers, it would have quite a bit of rasp. Maybe thats just me. I still prefer the Greddy Evo2/Invidia Exhausts.

SoCaL03GTS : who are you?
I'm not going to lie, there is a bit of rasp, but remember that this was the R&D unit. I was told that they were going to make a slight modification to deal with that. Nevertheless, its not enough honestly to get annoyed over, so its cool. The best thing I like about the exhaust is when you're off the throttle, its not loud at all, and its got great sound for being under 93db, which is great dealing with cops here in Cali. I've had 3 friends cited for exhuast here, and I haven't even received a glance from a cop yet...knock on wood!

i know, but i think invidia will be way to loud with headers lol, but i dunno, i like a really throaty exhaust. I wish there was no rasp in this because this exhaust sounds pretty mean.

Smile Tanabe mufflers

I have Tanabe Racing Medallion Mufflers ( not the G series ) on my RS they look good and sound great very loud but not raspy although I have headers and an duel cat. I also dueled out my exuast at first but ended up with a phantom for a louder sound
hope this helps

They sound great to me, but I do like a tiny bit of popping I think. It seems to sound more powerful to me, lol. Anyway, it sounds great, but I don't really like the looks of it all that much. I don't like the looks of it on that car, because it isn't close enough to the body. It looks like it may stick out too far and hang down a little too far from the body.

One other thing...lol...In the inside driving clip, this guy didn't seem to be a 'skilled' driver with the Eclipse GT. Are the GT's that hard to drive, or was this guy just not used to it? He seemed to be letting out on the clutch too slow.

He's giving it too much gas when letting out the clutch and the rpms are too high for the current drivetrain speed. He is easing out the clutch, but it's having to pull the engine rpms down. I've done it with my Strat, and still do every now and then by mistake... then again I've only been driving stick on and off for about 6 months. Usually once you get out of 1st, shifting between 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th is almost like butter.

hahaha...i knew that was coming sooner or later. I thought about taking it to a shop and having them straighten it out, but I got lazy lol. That was the one thing I didn't like about it when I first got the exhaust, but then again being the R&D unit, it was free...so I couldn't really complain.

I'm going to try and borrow my friend's DV cam soon, so I can record and post some better videos inside the car while driving.

Yeah SoCal, I wouldn't turn that exhaust down for free either man, even though I am highly anti-ricer. Let me ask you guys something, do you think this sounds at all similar to the Magnaflow cat-back system? If not, what are the differences and which do you like more? I have yet to find a 3G GT Magnaflow cat-back exhaust sound clip (I can only find custom-made ones), and I hear some people say they don't like the way they sound.
