Be a little more specific on what exactly you're trying to do. Just saying it's on the harness side doesn't help much since there are quite a few harnesses with quite a few connectors...explain what you're trying to do and we might be able to better help you get there...

Ahh...now I gotcha...old age was starting to kick in I guess.

Looking at that circuit, two other ways you can perform the same function, if you don't want to short/solder the two wires together, would be to either cut & cap the wire going into either pin 1, which would keep the sensor from biasing the internal transistor that grounds out pin 43 of the PCM, or you can cut & cap the wire going into pin 2, which all the sensor to function as normal (i.e. the transistor would bias as designed), but pin 43 of the PCM would not be connected to it.

Either of those two options I listed would prevent the IFS from triggering the PCM, but allow you to easily reconnect the wire back in to return to the factory circuit, such as if you ever wanted to sell the car...

Yep, that would work as well.

But for me, I knew I would never be putting the sensor back in (since its completely useless with teh EMS), so I chose to remove the sensor for good, and also remove the two signal wires from the harness

True, but then again, I'm surprised there's anything stock left on your car with all you've done to it...

Gly : who are you?
dragging up an old topic,

can this be done and still have the factory rev/rpm counter work??

i removed the IFS, and bridged pins 3 and 4, the car starts and runs fine,
but the rev counter does not work at all.

mdrolando : who are you?
i know this is like waking up and old tread but i just wanted to know if this can be done in order to bypass the sensor as a temp solution?

apparently my I.F.S. is getting 12V but not supplying 12v to the coils so what do you have? a crappy running car

So my question is get this be used as a temp solution until i get a new sensor?
