did some searching around for you (slow day at work lol) well the spring rates for the tanabe's are 3.0 front/2.6 rear. The S-techs are 4.3front/3.2 rear and the sportlines are 225F/146R (thats in lbs/in the others are in kg/mm)
heres a good thread about them : Existing Spring Rates |

I believe the Prokit and Sportlines have the same spring rates.

Very similar to each other but not the same. They are both progressive type springs. I doubt that the S-tech's are progressive. Progressive means that they are soft and stiffen with force/load. Non-progressive means that it take same about of load to depress each inch/mm, whatever scale you want to use.

Why not get some ground control coilovers? Ya they are kinda ricer but they have a great spring rate, you can drop your car however far you want to and you can keep your Tokikos and Konis.

I still dont know why we are talking shocks/struts. Really you should be looking at a set of Tein SS-P's and/or another style of coilover.

Hello :)

I really don't know about coilovers and our cars. I drove Kris's car and it seemed like something was missing (most likely spring fault we shall see soon) I seen your car and I don't know if there was a difference in your times , but that might be you getting used to them. i think it comes down to all driver skills and we can see that by Art's car getting unbelievably awesome times

Hello :)

Here is a more progress as I go. I got rid of all audio system and all other small metals that weren't needed. Now I am awaiting for a good deal on a header, exhaust and shoul dbe halfway done with parts I need. Most likely I will get dual piston calipers, rear disc conversion,ECU for reflash and new tie rods etc later this week.
Here's some picstures !!! ![]() ![]() ![]() As for the gauges I already received:OIl pressure,Oil temp,EGT,Volts. I will keep the main Speedo and make fabricate some fiberglass around it and fit it where it is in the picture. As for the rest of the dash I was thinking what Clipse3Gt did but might go different route.

This thing is looking good man! I wanna get into the Auto-X eventually. After the sway bars and rear strut bar are in, and I'll probably look into it. I wish my car wasn't a daily so I could gut it. I definitely wanna see how this takes shape for you...seems like we're going a similar route with our cars.

Just got a set of Tein S-techs since they seem to be the best Spring option for me as far as stiffness. Now, waiting on new brakes Upgrades:
Dual Piston Rear drum to disc Conversion R1 Concept rotors all around (testing for autox) Assix brake pads Pads

I'd do Hawk HP Plus pads...I used to use them in my CSP Miata, and I use them now in the turbo SM 3g...love that stuff

Hello :)

Update
For the past week I've been trying o come up with an idea of what to do with my front part of interior where the main dash used to be.I spend sometime going over ideas with Kris and the only cheapest way would be doing the same thing he did to his car. On my part it would be alot more work since I still have heater core and all the stock wiring , so it was either do it right the first time or hold off the project until you get some good funds and ask someone to make it custom for you. Yesterday, I decided to use Clipse3Gt's cracked dashboard and make some customization to it.I will fabricate my main 3 gauge pod and its going to be installed where the clock pod area. next up would be the area where CD player/HVAC used to be. With everything out I will either get a custom piece of aluminum made or fabricate my own piece to cover that up and cut out the holes for the rest of the gauges and HVAC. This way I wont have trouble of relocating HVAC and all the gauges will be easily readable. This is the picture of what I have in mind (center area) ![]() I also took off my spoiler but I don't think it looks good. I guess it all depends from the color of the car ![]()

hey man, its looking good. dont forget about all the sound deadening crap! O and all the useless wireing<----- meaning make the wiring take short cuts, if it doesnt have to be 10' long wire cut it, you can rerout wire anyway you want to save weight
![]() BTW, i had a date this weekend, so i had to put everything back together in mine. and man, its going to stay like that, it feels like a whole new car! is clean, not loud, you dont smell the outside as easy.

, All the sound deadening is gone so are the front speakers and I haven't have time to do the rear speakers. All the cables for antennas gonna be out too. I decided that brake set-up will go on last since its not going o be a problem to get it at the good price. I am hoping to get RPW header before December hits so I can start installing the whole Exhaust system and tuning it. As far as the inside I am starting to work on the dash next week

I drove it and it is loud but not annoyingly loud
. I also gotta think about how to pass emissions so I wanna keep the cat instead of going straight pipe. I also want to sound good not like a rice machine. As to suspension i am pretty happy with my Koni/Tokico set-up. Only thing I am going to change is spring and get a stiffer ones.

Hello :)

Well in Ohio all the cars 96+ use OBD-II to pass emissions. So if you have any sort of Check Engine light it will fail automatically
. As far as cutting the stuff I think I will keep my cat and use 02 foulers and maybe pass that wat. They were supposed to get rid off emission like 2 yrs ago but I guess only my county has them.

They do dyno for the cars that dont have OBD-II or if OBD-II doesn't allow to connect to their PC. All cars 1996+ are connected to OBD-II and PC checks for emission. I will also run the evo ecu reflash with wideband so i gotta take that into consideration

If you Modify your computer to not read some things It may fail Since when Plugged up to a smog machine The Cars computerPCM talks to the machine itself, making sure everything is there and working correctly. I will need to look into Ohio's laws a little deeper Then I will PM you a solution. Another way to legally put aftermarket parts on a car is buying it with a CARB EO sticker (the silver one on intakes) they make it 50 state legal. |

You could always do what my dad did on his van to pass e-check. Make a section of your straight pipe unboltable and put a flange on both sides of your cat and then when you go get it checked bolt the cat in, then bolt the straight pipe back in when you get home or go to the track.

Hello :)

Well it is a really nice day today and I decided to put my new hood and see what it looks like. I think it looks awesome and the cutouts will help cool the engine down when Auto-X and during track days. I know the alignment is a little bit off but thats bumper's fault and will be fixed before Spring.
