Where to start????? Lets see, you've done the sound deading, lighter seats? coil overs are lighter than springs and shocks, ( atleast in the front, unsprung weight), air bags and glove box, AC comp. plus lines & cond. also cruise control module, move the new & lighter battery to the right rear for better balance and CF hood and deck lid, take out as much glass as you dare, replace with Lexan. Also could removed crash bars in doors, ( all 4 weigh 16 lbs.).Front crush tube weighs 19 lbs. Aluminum fly wheel, aluminum radiator weighs about same as OEM. Smaller steering wheel. If you do all of that it would be +- 300 lbs lighter than OEM, depending on year of car and as to whether its a 6 or 4 and stick or auto. Hope this helps & if I think of anything else, I'll let you know!

I think that hood makes your car look excellent. Should definitely help alot with cooling down the engine bay.

Lexan Windows Basically a 5-10 mm plastic window.
Do your exhaust last bro. I only hear Ricers have Apexi -_- When building a motor. You need to know how much power your going to produce. So I dont think a 300hp car on average after building will use 2 1/4 inch piping Go big or go home Still gj with project will find out smog laws for ohio when I have the time. Also Get your selfa 8lbs Fidanza. I dont know what stock flywheel weight is But Not light what so ever.

Heh clipse, when I replaced my OEM brakes with Brembo's, the weight was about the same save for the rotors.

I am trying to contact the guy about Invida but nothing so I had the thought. What if I I leave my muffler (Magnaflow) and then get a custom piping from the store. Will this run me same as 300 cat-back? Is this a good idea? Will the sound of the car be louder, deeper, raspy? As of right now car has no rasp at all but a deep nice lever sound

Don't even bother. The CSF radiators are junk.

The CSF radiator is slimmer than stock. The only difference is aluminum end tanks which does NOTHING for cooling.
The SDS has NEVER had overheating issues, no matter how much power you are making. You run into cooling problems when you turbo the car due to the hotside piping soaking the radiator and intercoolers which block airflow to the radiator. Trust me, CSF = chinese junk.

No, just wanted more fluid to aid in keeping it as cool as possible!
Generally overheating isn't an issue unless turbo'ing! Diff. is OEM is a single where as the CSF is double, weights the same!

Hello :)

Well its weird because at the Auto-X events my car does overheat and sometimes really bad. We usually run 45-55 sec courses in a hot/humid weather. After lets say 2-3 runs the needle can even go over 3/4 of the way so i need a better way of cooling the engine. I already bough silicone radiator hoses,CF hood with the cut out in the middle and have a goo deal on CSF 1 row radiator (came from Rulez's car). Do you think this will help?

CSF makes 2 different radiators for this car. I have one downstairs that I wouldn't put in a modified car, the core is slimmer than stock.

Thats not totally true. Yes you are limited by the cooling medium (air in this case) however tube passes, fins and also water (coolant) also play a roll in overall heat exchange of the radiator. The best bang for the buck is to add a fan that can supply more cfm than stock but adding extra surface area and/or fluid will also help you cool.

Running a dual core with a bigger than stock fan would be your best bet.

FYI, regards fans, I found out that one of my fans died, didn't realize it until I brought in to have some work done! ( Possible prob.?)
The fact that your autocrossing may be part of the prob. as its a short run with no cool down laps/time! I'm on the track for 20 - 25 min at a time which allows me a bit of time to cool things down, such as on the long straight. The infield part of the course is fairly tight and also we may be tail to bumper through a lot of the infield which doesn't allow much cooling either. I will say in sumation that I haven't had any cooling problems to this point!

Ah yes...

On my GT Emil, I run about 203-205F with my CSF radiator, even with just one stock fan. I would say first replace the radiator with dual core, then worry about fans if the radiator doesn't do the trick in the first place.
Also you might not be overheating, it might a faulty sensor as well. That coolant temp gauge in our cars is a dumbu gauge. You really have no idea what temp the coolant is unless you would hook up a digital readout to the sensor that goes to the ECU itself. |

Thats what I did, added another gauge regards water temp! Of course the only time I can read it is on the long straight, just too busy otherwise!

I just got them today so I will test fit them Sunday. They look really cool in persona and I was suprised .I am doing the timing belt next weekend and Exhaust will be put on at the same time so If I dont finish the header/tune work before first Auto-X I will have to race the way it is. Kris whenever gets warm we have to do the Gauges at least some of them and I gotta get that Oil cooler from you bud.

I didn't think about doing the separate cooler until after the body guy ordered a new radiator so yea.... Anyway, If anyone needs a stock manual radiator send me a pm or it will be in the forsale section sometime this week.

Regards radiator cap fitment!
Notice you have a CF hood, so what I had to do was carve out under the hood in that area until the hood fit flush! Hope that helped??/

[IMG] [/IMG]A bit worse for wear but I produced that kit for someone many years ago now. Those are 13-1.10 with the optional BSL6 (likely n model) calipers. Pretty straight forward stuff but seen some duty. Parts readily available for it any time. Rears are not mine. |
