AWD conversion

Hi everyone,

I'm new on this forum and the reason is that I purschased an Eclipse GS 2002 and I have made some researche on how I could convert it into AWD.

I have found the project of BLUEBOMBER with his AWD conversion but there are some apsects that are not clear for me.

So I open this thread for everyone who is interested into this conversion to bring all the infos needed.

First, I have read that only the late model of EVOs engines can be SWAP into the GS because of the position of the TRANNY/ENGINE. Does the tranny of the EVO8 fits bolt on the stock GS engine?

Which is the best rear subframe to use for this conversion and is it needed to build a tubular fame for it or you can bolt it on the chassis directly?

And does the tunnel for the driveshaft needs any modification or it is enough big to let the shaft pass?

Here are the first base questions that we need answers for this conversion.
