The front struts for the 4G are MacPherson struts. The koni yellow insert solution introduced to the Eclipse community by RRE with the 3G involved cutting open those OE front struts and retrofitting it with the koni strut insert canister. In effect, you'll be utilizing the strut tower mount and spring mounting points on the OE strut assembly, but have the Koni at the base of the assembly.

Oh, well I'll let you run with that theory

As long as we have upgradable suspension parts by November/December of this year I'm happy

Nonono... I actually wish someone would confirm that the rear shocks are transferrable. The front struts can be gutted out for sure. It's not like the strut-shock mounting point on the control arm will differ much from car to car.

This is still what I have on the 3G. Did it all myself without the need for a press.

How do you know the shocks will be the same diameter up front? There's no guarantee that the 4G fronts will accept the 1G koni strut inserts. I'd say someone should ask Mike.

Wrong. It's the 2G and 3G share the same rear suspension.

FWIW... I got an 06 GT SE 6MT, titanium color and so far am loving it. Coming from an automatic 3G, this thing feels like a rocket-ship, even with lackluster shifting skillz

Thanks! Unfortunately, in order to get the car to the dealership, someone drove it from MD to VA.... and "I Know What They Did On The Way Over", so to speak. Probably hammered it. So it was pretty well broken in... it feels much looser than the automatic version. However it's the first MT car I have owned, so can't say that there's really anything wrong with it. So far so good

Ehh... you'll be fine. Engines are really not as fragile as some people think. It was kinda weird seeing exhaust smoke when I downshifted from 5th to 3rd merging on the freeway the first ride home. Eh... it's fine Enjoy!

That is a motivator. My club3g stickers are still sitting in the house as a souvenier from the 3G Soon as the 4G is out of the shop (a piece of the aero kit came slightly loose) I will put them on, hehe
