I was looking at the 06 Eclipse cause I was bored last night with this site down. I was reading the customer reviews and saw this:

Review: I originally was looking to buy a Scion tC or Acura RSX until I went and saw the new 2006 Eclipse. The new body style looks GREAT. It looks more like how the old ones used to look. The interior is nothing but stellar. With a 162HP, it moves around pretty quickly...I'd say 0-60 in about 6.5 to 7.0 seconds. The Independent suspension makes cornering childs-play even at high speeds! The fact that it comes standard with side impact airbags, in addition to side curtain and front air bags is a big plus! If you're into music, you won't be disapointed with some lame stereo system. I have been rather impressed with the 650- watt Rockford Fosgate audio system with nine speakers and a 10-inch subwoofer. A+++++++
Favorite Features: The ice-blue backlighting makes everything crystal clear at night. It looks like a spaceship! Great looking interior, nice bucket seats, great sound system! Cool looking standard rims.
Suggested Improvements: More leg room for passengers in the backseats. Also, when you let passengers in and out of the backseat, it messes up the front seat settings/alignment. Meant to be a 2 seater but still nice to have the extra seats...

Anyone have the GS that can back this claim? I just want to know what kind of performance these have. Those numbers seem like a GT's times. But that might even be higher. This can't be true for a GS auto. Sorry for the long post.

That's a personal review that was submitted to Edmunds, not a review from an actual Edmunds employee. That person can say whatever they want.

If the GS posted those kind of numbers.. it would put the GT in the EVO area.. which I can tell you is not true.

Uh, my Integra Type R weighing in at less than 2600 lbs. with 3/4 tank of gas, 195 hp, and 4.4 final drive did 0-60 in 6.5 seconds. There's no way the tank that is the 4G GS can pull even a 7.0, much less a 6.5 time.

I have the 2006 GS 5 spd it very nice and yes its got a 162 horse I dont have the rockford kit and i really dont care cause I have to 12's that I took out of my 3g the car is really sporty feeling but I have to mod it I miss my 3G but once I mod this one I wont

also good luck hooking those 12's upto the stock head unit with anything other than a line inverter

automatic GS does 0-60 in 9.2 seconds... manual in round 8.5... auto GT does it in 6.5... manual a lil over 6...

I went to cortese mitsu in Rochester and I wne to go look at the 4 g's.I test drove a gt but it was sporty the only gt they had.They had a bunch of gs's and the sales man said "there pretty quick,if you want to drive a manual i'r got alot of gs's 5 spd".I laughed and i hoped in the gt and drove it.It was alright.I wish they had a 6 speed.But it got up pretty quick but I don't beliave that the gs is that quick.

consumer reports said that the 4g gs ran a 0-60 time in 9.0 seconds, when they compared it to the rsx non-type s, chevy cobalt ss, and the scion tc. It also had the highest mark- in price coming in at almost 3k over msrp.
