NYC Sunday

I had to go into the city last Sunday and decided to take my camera with me. Just a lazy Sunday (8/11/08) in NYC. Some pics, everything taken with the Canon 450D + EF 28mm f/2.8

I know the pics are a bit over PP'ed. It's intentional

I like the subway shots in B&W the best. Very cool.

Some great shots Marc. Most impressive might be that you managed to get 34th street completely empty. I really like the shot looking up the stairs.

that one is bothering me and I think i finally know what it is.

well for one it's a bit over exposed but that's not it. I think the shot is just too busy. a zoomed in shot that isolated say the blocks in the fountain with the water shooting out might have been better.

40D is workin out great. I am hoping to get some shots with it at a local bike race this weekend.

I really need to get out some with my camera. I've just been so busy, and now with the move coming up it's not going to be any better. It does look like I'll be in the carolinas for vacation in Oct/Nov so I should get some nice shots in places like Savannah, Charleston and the blue ridge parkway.

I've been thinking about getting an ND filter, or just stick with the CPL.

i've got a grad ND filter that I used quite a bit in Alaska but I haven't used it since then. Mostly because I couldn't find it for almost a year

but I do use the CPL sometimes in place of a ND filter for things like softening flowing water with long exposures.

not sure about Atlanta. It depends on how we come back from NC and if we fly or drive.

Actually if this picture didnt have the entourage sign, I would think it is the Daily Planet building that Superman works in.

I have no idea what building that is. It's right in front of Madison Square Garden (33rd St and 7th Ave)

I lived on that street (23rd St.) for 5 years.
