***Forum Purpose and Rules*** READ before posting

Hi there.

Welcome to the AV&P forum. This forum is here for members to discuss and share their knowledge and questions about photography, home theater, audio (non-car related), video editing/capture/design, etc.

It is not intended to showcase snapshots of your car, house, skateboard, etc. That isn't to say that you CAN'T post pictures or videos of these things. But ask yourself this before posting the shot - Am I asking for a critique about the artistic or technical skill of the photograph or video itself? OR - am I asking "Does my car look good with this wing?". If the answer is the latter, it belongs in Member's Rides. Trust us, most people that read THIS forum aren't going to critique your ride all that much.

No linking to illegal content. This includes links to warez sites, illegal torrents, etc... etc...

No how-to's on how to copy illegally obtained materials such as software, films, etc. This includes linking to another site with instructions.

Don't ask how to do or find any of the above here or anything illegal in nature. I'm assuming most of you know better by now. We will have you banned for a while if you try to get a quick answer and think we'll just simply delete your thread after you've already gotten your answer and all will be fine.

Perhaps I should be visually clear:

The below is a snapshot of a car. Yes, it's a Ferrari. But it's a boring shot of a car parked on a lawn. And it was specifically made to say "Hey, look, a ferrari on my lawn". No one could mistake this for fine photography.

On the other hand, below is a photo of a car. Another Ferrari, but this time we have ourselves an interesting photograph. There is technique and composition and general photographic interest.

I'm trying to be clear. If you take photos of automobiles as a hobby, and are looking to improve the way those photos look, or get critiques or kudos on your good shots, please post them and ask. If you took 20 pictures of your friend's dashboard to show us his autometer guages, find somewhere else to post the pictures.

If you can make a case for a photo belonging here, then go for it. I think several of the shots posted by Assasain belong here. He tried to do interesting things lighting and compositionally. The car is the subject, but he made photographs. What we're trying to get at is that if people want to post pictures of their cars to show off the CAR, they would get a better and more appropriate response in other forums. If they want to take a picture of their car to show off the PHOTO, then it belongs here. Make sense?
