Question 3-way speaker mounting

How would one go about mounting a set of 3-way components in our cars? I have a 6.5" 4.5" and 1". Of course the 6.5 will just get put in the old speaker location and im guessing the tweeter will fit in the old ones spot so really, where would be a good place for the 4.5" midwoofer or whatever it would be called? Looked around and couldn't really find anything about this so I was hoping someone one here would have suggestions.

not really.. there isn't a good spot for a mid in these cars.. i guess you could build some a-pillar boxes to house the tweeters and the mids, but that is about it..

Custom door pods for the 6.5" and 4" would probably be your best bet.

Or just ditch the 3 ways and go with regular components.

I considered doing a 3 way setup a while back with some 8s, 6s, and 1.5s. Even with the possibility of making a kick panel for the odd one out, I just didn't see it working well. There really isn't any good places to locate the extra gear and still keep the proper staging. Good luck if you decide to continue this pursuit.

ruins the staging-- it will pull everything backwards of the dash. a good soundstage should sound like the entire band is playing on or just in front of your hood..

I'd go with a set of quality components, and DEFINITELY power them with a separate amplifier.

I might just pull out the mid then because I do have a set of normal 2 way crossovers that I could use. And I know about the amp and I have one (powerbass 400.2 bridged for 4 ohms for the subs and pioneer gm-5400t for the speakers)
