Stiff crowd. Don't let them get to ya. My first pass down the strip with a 3.0 was a 16.7. Ended up in the lower 15.1-15.3 area before I moved to a 3.5L. Focus on your own goals & beating your own records before focusing on the car in the other lane or the tough 3G crew.

Btw, I agree. It's nice to see people using their brains and racing on a track rather than the street.

C3G has come to a point that unless you're running 13's and under, nobody really gives a fuck. It's nothing personal, but I think we've just realized that our platform sucks ass and we need to see unrealistic numbers to be impressed.

Everyone shouldn't be like this as we all have something in common I was surprised I didn't do a 17 second run so I was a bit more impressed. But its a tough crowd I lay low here gathering all the infoi can before I build up to either a rear mount it or a ripp supercharger

Yes it's good to keep it safe!

I ran 16.2 twice when my 3g GS 5-speed was bone stock. I was so embarrassed when I was at the track I left my helmet on at all times so no one could see my face.

My first time at the track I ran a best of 17.2 with a ACT 2100lb clutch and a short ram. Higher numbers are better right?

Found it. Now begins the building process of saving up my paychecks. Hopefully get it done before summer. I only find eBay forged inter als for that motor or are they good?

ebay is good for small things like accessories or bushings stick with the pro's for the precision work (wiseco, CP.... etcetera). You kind of sound like me in the aspect of fresh to the build process. take your time. Seriously take your time. figure out exactly what it is you want to do then start your build. Don't just jump in and buy random stuff because your going to waste money on impulse buys. Make a list set power goals. Is the car your building going to be a DD or track car? are you looking just to shave a second off or chasing the 10 second 1/4

Some people here will be rude. Pay attention to the ones who stand out in the crowd there is a few good guys here that really know what they are talking about and are helpful to serious people.

Like M0D1F13D said, think about what you want to do... if you're not after raw horsepower, you can always win races by joining bracket racing, or do autocross racing (slalom). Or even do all three, why not. Sure beats TV.

Didn't know this was already a v6 car.

Torque converter and some tires will help your time the most for the money.

Be careful with what you do to the car....it's still a sebring and you're dumping all this money into and will never get it back. It doesn't up the resale value to swap a 3.8 in.

I'll give it 14.3 best on the stock trans. Between being an auto and shitting a one wheel wonder that's stretching it.

However with the appropriate trans, the world is a different place.

14.3 is very generous for an auto. He would need some very sticky tires. I was doing that on a manual / LSD. Maybe I need some wheels that are NOT 19s.

I wouldn't waste time on the 3.8. Get boosted. 14.7 psi would be the same as doubling your displacement (6.0 liters) and sky is the limit.

Of course there's so many more mods you can do that would be way cheaper/easier that would lower the e.t.

the 3.8 is worth it for the money and is a good upgrade from stock but your not gonna kill all the other cars, that 'holy shit i have the fastest car ever' feeling will quickly wear off, i've thought about building and boosting mine but i would rather put the money in other places, especially since they closed down the track by me and the closest one is 1.5 hours.

side note, a 3.8 auto with a built tranny, lsd, sticky tires, and 2800 stall tc, about what do you think that would run?

Hm. I was pulling on high 13 seconds cars from 20 up. I don't see what else could make such a difference.

You V6 guys need to step your game up. Build a 3.0, put a big single on it, lsd, and bigs up front and littles out back. KEEP SHIT LIGHT

Of course there's so many more mods you can do that would be way cheaper/easier that would lower the e.t.
F.I is definitely on the list of mods for the future. Along with finding out how to build this auto transmission up

it cost about 6k for built tranny with high stall tc and lsd

and if you aren't retarded, because you can easily fuck this up, the do this. How To: Fix the 2-3 Shift Flare in the Sportronic FOREVER my only suggestion is to drill a smaller hole than what is said in that how to, maybe half the size, it's going to seem retarded to take that apart just to drill a very tiny hole, but it does make a difference, don't think you have to go overboard, it is a very small hole, thats all. (and don't screw up the goofy shaped gasket in there, i have no clue where to get another one)
