Wondering If its Fixable :(
So im driving and this woman in a jeep turns in front of me causing me to hit her. My car is in pretty bad shape and idk if its worth fixing or not. I dont think the engine was damaged or the frame bent but im not 100% sure. What do you guys think?

Fame looks bent on the passenger side. Radiator support is rather destroyed. While anything is fixable with a price tag, you'll truly spend the value of the car to do so. With little sental mental value I'd move on. Otherwise start pulling off the bumper and fenders yourself to get a better idea of what you'd be looking at.

Most likely going to be totaled out. Who was at fault (I assume the jeep but just have to ask)? I say just take the insurance money (try to get as much as you can out of her insurance if she is at fault) and get another car.

Sorry to see this, but it doesn't look like it can be salvaged for less than what it's worth. Looks like she turned into your path and you T-boned her while she was mid-turn, causing her to roll. Ouch. Glad you made it out OK.

I had thought about buying it back if it is a total loss and either parting it out or trying to fix it when i get time. Besides all the cosmetic stuff it seems it probably only needs a radiator and the supports next to the headlights bent back. I have to ask the body shop if they can get me a list of what is definitely damaged.
Part of me wants the car to be fixable and the other part of me wants to move on to something else. The only thing is i have no idea what kind of car to get. I'm driving myself crazy on craigslist trying to get ideas. Any suggestions on a next car? |

As someone that happened through the same thing I'd say don't buy it back, take the insurance money, it's gonna be more than the current cost of your car but not by much. Unless you have a shop and can fix it yourself don't buy it back.

Glad you are fine man! Literally same exact thing happened to me almost two months ago. A stupid ass kid turned in front of me as I am going 50mph down the road and literally had zero time to respond. Smashed him at 50mph and his truck went in the air and landed on the drivers side door flat on the ground. Shitty experience and my car was totaled with similar damage to yours a little worse.
Glad you're okay! |

So i finally got an answer from the insurance company. They said the car was totaled. I was initially planning to buy the car back and fix it, but i decided that I'm just going to take the money. As far as a replacement goes, as much as id like another eclipse, i think its time for something different right now. I definitely want to get another one in the future as they are so sexy ... and quick
I've been looking at some used cars and for some reason the Nissan Xterra is catching my eye. Does anyone have any experience with these?

Damn, the jeep flipped over!
![]() As soon as I read women and jeep I knew something bad was gonna comeout. Also nissan tranny's blow. I know myself for owning one and some friends own the pathfinder/infiniti SUV's. Transmissions are known for going out after some 100k. I did regular maintainence on it, not religiously, but i did it on time and the car wouldnt shift into first. It would need to be reved up to around the neighborhood of 2300 rpm's or just shift down into first. The VQ engines are pretty damn good though. Got 240k out of it!
