patchinsc needs to be reminded to breathe.
racing eclipse on 3/8 mile dirt track

got a 2003 2.4 motor non turbo 4g64 runs fast for 2 laps then exhaust gets red then it slows down it also cuts off when you tap on intake thought it might be knock sensor but i unplug it and it still cuts off when you tap on the intake i run it in second gear its a automatic it hits rev limiter at the end of straight aways anyone got any ideas be glad too listen

You really should have posted this here New Members Forum - Club3G Forum : Mitsubishi Eclipse 3G Forums. You are a new member to this community and with questions like these you need to post them in the New Members forum. People will gladly answer your questions to a certain extent. But I will sum it up real quick the answer you are looking for.

The 2.4L automatic transmission eclipse isn't track worthy. The transmission puts limitations to the power output and performance of the vehicle as a whole. If you do want to make it track worthy the first thing you need to do is trade in your eclipse for a manual transmission 2.4L.
