Wideband and ECU logging
I am logging data with my laptop via Mitsulogger, and ecuEdit (if I could get it to work
), but the logging software has the ability to log with the maps an A/F ratio from a wideband gauge. I ordered the AEM Wideband Gauge before I looked into logging at all. My question is, can the AEM wideband gauge be used to log with a laptop, if not, what would be a better setup to log widebands with mitsulogger or ecuEdit, or any logging tool?Right now the car is just N/A and I'm trying to learn the software and numbers, but it will be turbo in a few days so tuning is important. What would be the best wideband setup or is there a way I can make the AEM wideband work? |

the installation instructions for the standalone UEGO guage controller that i bought that turned out to be a dud had instructions for wiring the serial output wire into a 9 pin serial connector that can be cut off of any really old mouse or modem or bought at radio shack.

according to the instructions, pin 2 on the db9 port gets connected to the blue wire for the rx stream, and pin 5 is grounded. using a communication setting at 9600 bps, 8 data bits, no parity, stop bits 1, with hardware flow control (what the instructions say but could be a reason is isn't communicating if these are wrong). Also I'd make sure the com port you select in hyperterminal/ecuedit/mitsulogger whatever you're using for logging, is the one that the cable is connected to.
I haven't had a chance to try logging yet, I haven't gotten the o2 bung welded but logging is the first thing I plan on doing. |
