Boot help! Need help asap!

i have a tosiba satellite L25-S1192 with 1gb of ram.........

i started having problems with it not wanting to boot up a couple weeks ago. But if i restarted it a bunch of times it would eventually boot.(windows xp)

Well i thought maybe the harddrive was goign bad, so i put in my Knoppix Cd and it would sometimes it would read the hd and sometimes it wouldnt.....so i bought a new harddrive installed windows and when it went to restart it didnt boot back up.

I really need help fixing this problem i have a project due in 2 weeks but need my laptop for it!

Please help....i can answer any questions you need the answer too.

If you can, press F8, and disable automatic restart on boot failure...

then give us the error message if it does give you anything.

i can and i see all the options......it did nothing tho. I noticed sometimes my bios splash screen ( the toshiba logo) doesnt show up just a bunch of little red x's. I updated the bios and that did nothign. Im not sure if i have a whole install of windows on this harddrive. It partioned it with the disk, and when it would normall restart and you put in yoru info and product key....thats whenit wont boot at.

Go into your bios. Turn EVERYTHING off. Try to reboot it. Add devices back one at a time until it fails. Then you'll know what's wrong. Also if the Toshiba comes with diagnostic utilities, run the memory test.

If you can't even get to the BIOS, then it's not POSTing and it's a hardware issue. Usually it's the RAM or the Mobo.
