I looked at the Nyko ones and well, they're just waaaayy too loud. Don't know how much it helps, but it does pull some air. But then again, does your PS3 actually get that hot? Just have it standing instead of lying flat, it moves more heat that way.

Don't waste your money.
It's a fix for a problem that doesn't exist.
The Crap-Box over heats, the PS3 doesn't.

If you keep your PS3 out in the open for ventilation, it won't overheat. They did a good job in keeping it "cool" by itself.

Not worth it. Some versions have been found to put a strain on the power supply and cause more problems. The PS3 does a fine job of cooling itself.

Fold some Home and then put your hand on it.
It should be warm, but not hot.

As someone who has completed over 800 work units on Folding@Home I can tell you that 5 hours is fine. I've left it on, crunching data for months at a time.

Not a fan of standing up a console. If you use a corded controller and pull too hard you could trip the console and it could do more damage.

Where the hell did that come from?
But thanks for the advice.

As soon as someone ask about using a corded controller on a PS3 while standing it up vertically, we'll be sure to think of you.
And where did you find a corded controller for a PS3?
And how do you trip a console?

Say you left the controler on and the battery is dead and you want to play. Plug it in and play long enough to unplug/move.

Nice attempt, but someone talked about standing the console up for air ventilation. I was simply adding a possible scenario.

Read post 2 and then think about it.

A possible scenario would be if your left the controller on the floor, a pet or anyone could trip on it, thus bringing down the console. I said CONSOLE not ps3. I generalized it cause it's universal to other platforms.
