i checked the box and my cart. didn't work. i went into the directory folder and deleted the entire addon folder. loaded up wow and they were still there... and bartender doesnt even show up.?

Kinetic: I am not positive about a lot of things but I'll list some of the suggestions I have and hopefully something will click

1. You didn't check the load out of date addons. (it sounds like you did, but just checking)
2. You need to download an update to cartographer, either go to World of Warcraft - WowAce.com to get the latest version, or use Phinhead's updater. The version of cartographer you have is possibly outdated and won't work with WoW 3.02
3. In deleting the addon folder, you also deleted the critical blizzard addons that are supposed to be there and now they don't work.
4. Cartographer needs some sort of dynamic load on demand library to work, but it's not there currently because it's out of date or not listed.

Those are some of the ideas I had, they are all mostly independent thoughts, and you shouldn't take action on them all at once. Hope this helps.

On another note, I've spent over 10 hours working on redoing all of my addons -- I think I like that better than actually gaming, must be my inner geek trying to get me to learn without realizing it.

Anyways, Kinetic, many of these addons have dependencies and other things that could be needed for them to run correctly. I think cartographer is an ACE mod, and it's possible you would need to have some Load on Demand Library addons as well. With the demise of the wowace updater though, I'm not sure how they are doing it. It's possible that they are embedding all of the libraries into the addons themselves. Good luck and write back

before i deleted the addon folder they addons still didnt work. i'll try and post a picture of the message i get when i load up wow. and hopfully everything will go smoother than it did yesturday. thanks guys

I haven't played WoW for a little bit, but I got a call from a friend of mine from back in MD. We were discussing some of our other friends and he went on to tell me that the 2 of our friends that got married almost got divorced twice so far within 2 years. Both times has been because of his WoW obsession. So just stop playing, right? The problem, she plays WoW too. She doesn't want to stop playing because she is responsible with it, but he doesn't stop when she wants (in all other things she runs that house) and all hell breaks loose.

I ended up talking to her and tried to use the analogy that in AA groups one of the first things they do is ask the whole family to give up drinking so that the temptation isn't in the household. She wouldn't listen. We are now running a pool on how long after the expansion they get divorced.

i'm having some technical problems with my wow. i log on and play for about 5 minutes then i get disconnected. log back on and about 5 minutes later i get disconnected so yet again i log back and after about 5 minutes guess what happens? i get disconnected. any ideas why?

Most likely your server is having issues, as are most from the last patch.

On the other hand, I'm pretty happy about the new 10 man raiding. I just don't have the time to raid like I did when I was in college, but getting 10 people together isn't hard. About half the people I play with I know & are friends with IRL, and the other half I've been playing with on WoW for about 3 or so years now. So I'm pretty happy with our little group and we should do well, we just don't have the time for the hardcore raiding we used to. I will miss the feel of the bigger raids, the big 40 mans were awesome (when they actually went well), and the 25 mans were somewhat similar, but oh well.

After my guild crumbled early on in TBC I decided to do other things with my time than play WoW & frankly I ddin't want to join a new guild and be the low man on the totem pole...I mean I had been in the guild since MC days & their first rag kill, progressed thru BWL, did some AQ40 & Naxx too. After spending that much time in a group it sucks to just be the low man and know no one...So I logged in about a month or so ago to find out my Kara/Gruul/Mag PvE gear & S2 PvP gear was "lol, look at the nub" gear.

Anyway, no real point, other than to just say I'm excited for the xpac and can't wait to start seeing some new content!

So anyone been preparing for their DK?

I spent most of this weekend and the better part of 1K gold to get items to prepare for my DK, such as cloth for turn in's, etc. I plan on rolling a DK because they are the only class that I am not familiar with and 2H tanking sounds interesting. I am a pretty quick leveler so hopefully I can outpace the DK's on my server, but I also will not be taking thursday and friday off so who knows. Should be fun though.
