Short Race with a Modded Civic

There I was, minding my own business, listening to the radio and, in general, not paying much attention to the cars sharing the road with me. As I was coming to a stop at a light, I saw a black '92-'95 Civic coming up behind me at speed so that he could dart into the lane next to me. I rolled my eyes and faced forward.

It didn't take long for the thought to register that this guy was probably going to gun it across the intersection. I could see at least $45 worth of Go-Fast parts from Pep Boys in his interior from my vantage point.

When the light turned green, I took off like normal with the Civic's front bumper at the edge of my door. With a sly grin, I rolled into the throttle and started pulling the little guy. He noticed right away and slammed his pedal to the floor, grabbing second gear with authority (and not much else).

I stayed in it until about 65, not wanting to be pulled over. By that point, I was probably 3-4 car lengths ahead of the Civic and he wasn't gaining ground at all. The obligatory Ricer Fly-By ensued.

The next time I change the oil in my 4Runner, it'll have 100K miles on it.

why waste your time and the money for gas that you put into the GOAT... ricers are really sad and i dont even waste the gas on them when i drive the z28 in the summer

good story tho and a kill...or should i say overkill

Doric, great story. I had an inkling you weren't in the GTO because by 65 in the Goat, you would have twice that distance on the pep boys special. Good stuff, man. Any mods coming before the tracks reopen back up?

To the 4Runner? No.

I picked up a swaybar and drag radials this past weekend. Other than that, I'm building a fenderwell intake, porting the stock throttle body, and a crap-ton of tuning. Hoping for 340rwhp.

hmmmm wow that was not what I was expecting to hear. What a story that one, especially the ending. Im sure amny other people have had similar experiences as well. The shit never ends when it comes to those "pepboys specials" eh? cant go around the fucking block without seeing one these days.
