well, the problem with mounting a turbo that far back is all that piping. exhaust has to travel a long way to spool plus charge piping has to run a long way back which means the air gets hotter. i have seen one camaro with the STS setup and about 600 whp. it was sick, but even with small twins he spooled late IMO. on our cars, it is not too hard to mount it in the bay. v6 is tight, but not impossible and yields better results. not to mention if you are lowered a lot, hit a bump hard enough, you just ruined youre exhaust piping, charge piping, turbo. not to mention with the turbo under there where is it sucking air from? to avoid sucking up water you would have to run a snorkel type system or only do it on a summer car.

Cause kits can be produce we know who to go to. We cant say tuning is the problem either because we have solutions for that. The main problem is people are cheap. Ya gotta pay to play

my fault it would solve my problem of wanting something stock looking and different than the rest. Plus if this would be a near complete kit needing only pipe to run to intake.

They are claiming it to spool under 3k and from their website it actually cools down to just over100 once reaching the engine. SAYS it also doesn't suck water but who knows. That's why I'm wondering if anyone that has seen it done other than trucks on spike network which did theirs on a off road truck.

the camaro i saw it on was a summer car. had slicks on the back. what people say and what they are are two different things. using a datalogger would ruin their claims. you should be able to find much information on the 4th gen camaro website as sts developed it first for that car i believe. and to this day, not many use it, they go with the procharger which is very similar to our centrifical superchargers by ripp.

you could always run a snorkel but it would look trashy. you can run side mount intercoolers you know so you can mount the turbo in the rear (have the two manifolds converge into a mount for the turbo close to the bottom) space would be tight but it wouldn't be impossible. when i first bought my 3g i ran against a golf that had a turbo mounted in the rear (way in the rear) with a side mount, i knew he had a turbo but couldnt figure out boost till he wizzed past me. found out he ran 11's. on the v6 space is really tight though. if i were you and wanted boost i'd go with ripp. otherwise, you want a sleeper, 6g75 swap. just like i tell people all i have is boltons. they don't know.

I saw one on a Chevy Astro van once. Late (really late) spool, but when it hit, it hit HARD. Completely unnecessary if you ask me; there's enough room up front in the 3G.

buy used. or get a custom turbo kit. we have the space, you have people at your disposal that know how to make the kits. all you need is the $ to make it happen.

A fully reliable and safe system is more the plausible in the 3g engine bay. Its tight but you can make it work elegantly if you actually put some effort into it.

honestly, if you want a brand new system you would have to go turbo then.

dont suck up water

the charge pipes being longer would actually make the air cooler. You just loose some exhaust energy(heat) by having a remote mount turbo

the charge pipes run parallel to the exhaust thus heating up.

I know we are talking about eclipses but I ran a remote mount system on my 02 fire bird with the 6cyl and aside from the nice look of having every thing in the engine bay it actually did a pretty good job spooled a bit slower than I would have liked but all in all didn't have to many problems or complaints one of the cheapest builds and was a much easier install than any I have ever done
