Insanity: (Workout)
Just did the fitness test (sore). Starting Day 1 tomorrow. Ive done crossfit before and this is intense, definitely an advanced workout for veterans out there. What I like about Insanity is that the exercises are more athletic type instead of being aerobatic class type from the P90X. My goal is to lose 8- 15 lbs. Ive been stuck 185 lb but Ive lost inches in my waist.
My friend is on day 10 and Ive seen his results... Last edited by High_flier; 05/11/2010 at 01:27 AM. |

P90x was definently a challenge to me. As long as your not looking to be jay cutler( the bodybuilder) like then this would be great. |

I'm currently on p90x and I enjoy because I'm seeing fast results. Insanity is also a very nice program I've looked into to start after p90x. I started out being a little out of shape, I was 5'9 at 149 pounds. Now I'm at 160 pounds at week 9. The trick is not only to do the workout but to live/eat a healthy lifestyle.

I can definitely vouch for Insanity. I have it on my laptop. When I first started it, the fitness test almost made me throw up.
I finished the entire 60 day program and got rid of any extra fat around my midsection. Not too much shed though since I didn't have much to begin with. I chose not to follow the nutrition plan(which would probably have made a much larger impact if I did). My sister was also on Insanity at the same time, and she still to this day works out every morning repeating the MAX Workouts on a loop. She is probably on day 80 or so. She is A LOT more toned than she used to be before she started it. Do not expect to lift any weights with this program though, it's mostly cardio.

i will definitely be doing Insanity after p90x. I think everyone should consider that these work outs work great for people on the go. People who dont have to hit the gym and then cardio after wards. I feel like p90x is training my body to do the right things....almost like its getting me into shape. after i get into shape...i step up to the next level of fitness. bulk and strength training. just my thoughts.... i see too many people who try to dive into these work outs just to bail out because they are so difficult. Its a process and every one is different therefore require change and tweeks to every work out.

So I completed my first go around of Insanity and it was pretty intense. I had read in reviews that people with knee problems should stay away from the program. I've had knee problems in the past - three right knee dislocations, but I was still able to get through the program without any problems. I just bought a pair of basketball shoes which helped cushion all the jumping involved in Insanity. Overall, Insanity is awesome for those looking to tone up without the use of weights.

Bump
Decided to check this out. Day 1, got sore and got my ass beat. Literally after the fit test was over, I was laying on the floor (unable to do the finishing cooldown)... just waiting to get a heart attack so I would just stop feeling sick .Just finished Day 2. The Plymetrics Cardio Circuit.. it was somehwere around 40 minutes. I was able to keep up with everyone until it got down to the low 20s. Then I had to go at my own pace. But wow.... it has to be crazy to see all the guys go shirtless because I almost did the same. My t-shirt is soaked and probably weights a good 10lbs right now.

I just started on this too... It's ridiculously tough. That's putting it lightly. But I'm doing it with P90x so it's like a hybrid sched. GL to you.

Day 3. Started out sore.. shit, been sore for the best 3 days but today, my ankles and shin where not having any part of it.
I believe this 3rd day was like 35 minutes or so. First 1/3, started out strong but had to stop and stretch for the last 5 seconds of each excerise. 2/3 I started to push myself until I couldnt do anything anymore. I could barely push myself off the floor so I had to call it quits about 10 minutes left. Again, even with my sore muscles and not going 100%... I still sweated my ass off. My entire front shirt is see-thru due to my sweat but I feel great. So far, I am actually fond of this workout. Ive tried p90x, thai-bo or whatever and this is my favorite. I have never sweated this much from a workout. They all worked, dont get me wrong but maybe its because I am not a cardio person.. I have always been a lifter. But yea... Shawn T is the man. He just has a way to push you

i do it sporadically... I really enjoy running, so i pick a random dvd every week and just do it. I dont have a set plan im following, but i do try and push hard to finish the max interval plyo. i still leave about 10min on the table and i swear one day i will do it all the way thru.

When my thighs/heels burn like crazy it's usually like 2 seconds left in the count, someday I'll keep up with them. I feel better when I see those guys in the video pause too.

I'm starting today.. Why not. It's tough for me to go to the gym everyday. So I'm going to do this, but supplement it with going to the gym when I can. I'll lift and do that stuff at the gym, but I'll use this for all my cardio.
Good luck metal ranger. 5' 9" 205lbs. I think I'm at 16% or 17% body fat. |

Metabolism is so ridiculous now and I did lost weight. I got comments from friends. The best part is the mid section is coming to shape. All P90x did was my back, shoulders, biceps and tris and some pecs.
Insanity will shrink you my sweat drops like beads and I'm drenched every single workout. My cardio has greatly improved. I'm playing in a basketball league at my work and I'm in the whole game and I feel like I could go for another game after.

I'm syncing the entire Insanity workout into my Ipad 2 right now. Going to watch over the videos to see the workouts so I don't fall out of place when I start. Sunday is the day I'm going to start just to be able to keep better track of the schedule.

I was planning to do it yesterday, but can't even find the motivation to do even the fit test. More so, I need the space as well because I can't jump in my basement without banging my head on the ceiling.

OMG, i laughed my ass off at the end of the vid, dude in the back was not even moving his feet!!!!!
now something like this, its not really going to build muscle? just completely burn fat, right? i mean, im sure it will build up those "odd" muscles, but most of that stuff looks like what i do when i play with my 6 year old, PLUS having to hold her up from hitting the ground most of the time. on a side note. i probly couldnt do 1 min of that crazy ness.

It doesn't do any bulking, but it will tone, and it will define. What it does best is work stabilizing muscles which is what I need. I have joint problems, I've had shoulder surgery, tore my labrum; have a small tear in m rotator cuff in the left shoulder, also tore my ulnar lateral ligament in my elbow last summer fracturing the bone too. Exercises like this help me a lot to build up my stability in the joints which is awesome, while toning everything else. I'm going to supplement it with hard swimming workouts and occasional lifting.
