Those of you who are against this obviously don't understand the consequences if the government doesn't do something. It's not a simple "let the failing companies eat the loss" and call it problem solved" - it's preventing a complete lending freeze which would effect almost ALL small businesses and have a severe trickle down affect.

This may be true of a lending freeze and would cause some hard times, but it would clean the economy of the bad lending practices are in place today.
