ebay question.

I have an item up for sale, I had put shipment to United States for $20 dollars. I didn't put anywhere else in the Ad for location restrictions. Some guy in England won the auction, I really don't want to ship to Europe and wait for fund to clear, palpay has the fund on hold. Can I tell the buyer that this item it's only for United States only Since that's what I had in the shipping info?

Find out from the carrier who you will use to ship it how much it is to ship then tell the winner. You don't have to ship it until you receive payment.

It's going to be shipped via usps, and I don't want to deal with the hassle. Also, since this item is over $100 dollars paypal has the fund on hold until the buyer gets the package and don't complain. Then the fund clears.

But I'm more interested in if I can cancell his winning bid because I had stated shipping to united states for $20.

I'm unsure what you are asking us. just send him an email. If the top bidder doesn't get it, it will go to the next highest bid.

Call E-bay or PayPal. I've found that talking to the companies on the phone can clear pretty much anything up.

I would just e-mail the buyer and ask if he'd pay the remaining cost in shipping. I think you messed up a little by not directly posting that you wouldn't ship out of country, but you could make things simple and he could just pay a little extra and you both get what you want.

You can't exactly call either one of them. They don't have customer support lines. They only deal through email, which kind of sucks

There is a # for Paypal (E-bay I'm not so sure), I'm posative. I had a contested item where I sent an extra payment to get a 2nd disc with the clutch I had ordered. During the dispute, the tracking number was valid, but the package didn't have the 2nd disc, and the seller disappeared off the map, except to respond to my dispute. But he never returned e-mails/calls. Anyway, after talking to the nice customer help on the phone, she refunded my $75 with a courtesy credit, which the seller didn't have to pay. She said he would have won the dispute because the tracking # was valid. Anyway, talking on the phone resolved my problem.

But directly contacting the buyer would be the best first step.

I had the same experience. Sold a phone on eBay which had flat rate shipping to the United States. No where did it say I would ship internationally or out of the US. So some guy in England won (coincidence) and I sent him a email saying that if he would still like the product shipping would be more as the flat rate only applied to the US. Showed him the new quote and he didn't want it anymore. I then relisted it and in big bold letters I wrote Shipping to US only.

If you stated in the listing that it was US shipping then they should expect to pay more for International shipping.

Thanks for your responses, it's not about the cost of shipping but just the hassle of shipping international, forms, customs, delay and not to mention if I get into a dispute with the buyer.

Yea dude just tell him that where it says Ship To in the auction it only lists the US if he says anything. If he continues to bitch then just give him a quote from UPS first class, it should be quite a difference in price which he probably won't pay lol.
