does anyone trade options here?

I've been reading up and learning how it all works. The market has been kicking my ass lately and one of the guys at work was explaining the options to me.

I got appoved and Ive bought a couple of books so I fully understand it all but it's a great way to make money on the crumbling market. I'm not looking to make a million overnight, but making an extra $300 or so a week surely won't hurt and is totally doable with minimal risk.

I'd like to hear any first hand experience anyone might have.

I trade shares and I don't like options. Check with Cam, he's big into options.

I've been looking into this also and have read up a lot on this. I've been working in the financial field for a while, but I have always delt with stocks/share. I'm having a hard time comprehending how the whole options thing works. If someone can explain this a little better that would be great. I've been reading up on CBOE as they have a lot of online material, but I'm not fully grasping the concept.

Options is a dangerous game. It's really only for experienced investors. Anyone that tells you that options can surely make you money is lying to you. I spent years as an equity and options trader and although I had some really good profits, several times I had heavy losses. Volatility is the key to large price swings and right now we see that. But the volatility can move in either direction.

The options is not that dangerous if you are just a litle smart and you're not greedy.

I'm looking at doing stuff that might make me $500 but would only cost me $200. If I lose the $200 it's no big deal. If I make $500 then great. Like I said, I'm not looking to make millions, I just want to start small and learn with small investments that if I did lose, or if I only broke even, I'm fine.

btw, someone go poke Cam in the side and bring him in here.
