I bought my 3g off eBay, and also convinced my stepfather to buy a 2009 Dodge Ram off eBay. I can say I have had only a few minor issues in the 10+ years I've been on there. Hopefully all goes smooth for you.

bought my spyder off e-bay,was a no reserve auction from a dealer. it sold for $4800 and i checked there web site a week later and they still had it FOR SALE!!!
so i called and kinda told the guy i was gonna report his ass cause i was second highest bidder and the car didn't sell so i wanted to pay the sold price. he started whinning about losing so much money on it but sold it to me to keep his rep on e-bay 100%.
just shows you that people BID on there own shit!!!! good luck but watch out!!

My first purchase on eBay was in 8th grade (10 years ago), I bought a pokemon card. I remember this clearly because the person I bought it from put it in this elaborate packaging for me.

I just picked up three 19' dell lcd display from craigslist for 20 bucks each. They all work and are in very good condition. I'm waiting for a little closer to x-mas to put these bad boys on ebay.
