Illinois Secretary of State Police.
Anyone have any idea what's up with these guys? I've not lived in Illinois in awhile, but i still my license from there.
Got a letter from the today, stating the following: "This letter is being sent in order to contact you to schedule a time to meet and discuss the status of your Illinois Driver License. Your driver's license status is subject to official action if a reply is not received within 14 days from the date of this letter." I called the guy and left him a message on his machine and i guess he is supposed to call back. I am not too worried since i work for the government i can have it overruled based on my job, but as a citizen i have no idea about these guys. What can they legally do here? Are they just checking up to make sure i still reside in the state? I have nothing on my license, it's completely clean, but i'm just wondering if anyone has gotten anything like this and what they want to know? I can get a New York State DL if i need to since i now reside here, but i drive back home ( Gurnee ) every so often. Thanks if anyone knows. |

ahahah Mav, you know it!!
So what do they do? Can they cancel it on me? or do they just want to make sure i still reside there. My taxes are still filed through Illinois hence my license there still, and i still have a residence there, yes a physical place in Gurnee that i have not been to in forever. Just wondering what these pricks can do, and what my course of action is going to be. I've just never heard of them really giving a shit about a driver's license especially in the case where i don't live there. Hasn't been an issue the past 12 years i've maintained an Illinois driver license. That includes me being out of state. Worse comes to worse i'll just nut up and get a new york state one i suppose. |

She called the guy and left him a message? did he call her back? if so what did he say? Ha! this feeling is new to me! the feeling of being in trouble, or at least feeling like i am. My boss said they're just ISP rejects.. so we'll see what he says.

So i finally got a call back from this guy. Says there was a problem with my application for my license, and that i need to meet with him this week or else he'll have to continue on his investigation without me? Wonder what that's about.
Anyone know any goood Attorneys in Lake Villa or the surrounding area's? I told the guy i can't make it there until October but that doesn't seem to be good enough for him. So I figure i better hire an attorney to go in and talk to this guy. Won't discuss anything over the phone, which is weird. |

Nope i still have an illinois driver license, and the guy is persistant that he needs to meet with me. I think it has something to do with me or my application on my license. If it was nothing serious i doubt he would have mailed me this letter and contacted me in the first place. To me, being a LEO it sounds serious, but even disclosing to this gentleman what my job is, he still refuses to speak about it. "i don't conduct my investigations over the phone, i need you to meet with me in person" That to me sounds pretty serious. Although i have not living in Illinois for the better part of 6 years, i always go back to renew my license as i hate NYS and refuse to have one here. Maybe i violated some law who knows, but it sounds serious enough that i could get into some trouble ( at least with them over it ) for it. I'm not whole heartedly worried about it persay, but i think at least sending an attorney in there for me in the mean time while i cannot be there due to work is the right step i think.
I am not sure what else to do i guess. |

it really sounds sketchy to me.. or were you re-applying for a new licence recently?
if it was something 'serious' as he says, wouldn't that show up if you looked up your licence? |

I talked to the Illinois DMV and they said the SOSP don't share their files with the DMV so they checked as well as me, and both said comes back clean. I'm going to call an Attorney and find out. Something doesn't seem right to me. |

Oh i def ran him, to find out who he is, Glenn Florkow, been on the job many years, has no record short of a few tickets when HE was younger, otherwise, outstanding service record for the military, graduated with honors, no complaints as an investigator for the SOSP. The guy is pretty clean, so this is why it leads me to believe it's legit. I'm not worried about going to jail or anything because we all know we can have it delt with, with how corrupt Illinois is.

I swear to fucking christ though, and you mark my words, if I go all the way to Lake Villa to find out what the fuck this is for, and it's honestly a waste of my time for something he could have told me over the phone, the ringer isn't going to be the only thing i'm going to put him through... i'll make sure his superiors get an ear full as well. |

My boss suggested that, but he also suggest, that i go there, and let them know im working on a case ( which being federal they're all federal cases ) and that he's impeding a federal investigation and that he can be brought up on charges for interfering. I'm sure his bosses will love that, all over a driver license dispute. That's the kind of ringer im going to put him through shall it come to pass.

After putting a call into his Captain, the issue seems to be mysteriously resolved. That is what i thought.
I informed the Captain that their policy of not conducting investigations over the phone is bullshit, he stated that was the individual investigators policy and that is not the departments policy so he was sorry for that. I informed him if i really had to come down there because of a residency issue that i was not going to be very pleased. I went today and got a new york state license in about 10 minutes, they're mailing back my IL license to Jesse White with a note telling him politely to stick it up his ass. Good day sirs. |

http://www.club3g.com/forum/off-topi...peed-sale.html Isn't uttering racial slurs and threatening others a federal offense?

Well if you come back just becareful, any one of them with the plate scanners can read your plate, and it red flags and that's how they'll get you. I guess any local municipality can nab you too, so if you DO come back over here just avoid the cops! ahahaha

It's not really a threat persay, as the whole online threat area is still pretty new to the justice department. I could probably find something to charge him with to have him held, then fuck him over. |
