Car looks good. I personally think that red calipers would've looked better.

I just used the size 194 wide angle LEDs from superbrightleds.com. They're the ones that have five LEDs on one base. The HVAC calls for the size 74 LEDs.

Haha, I was planning on painting them, but it was going to be flat black, not blue. I'm going to the wrecker's yard on Thursday to look for the parts to do the Drum to Disc conversion. I was even able to get my dad to pay for so I can use my money on other things. He agreed because I was able to convince him that it was a "safety issue" lol.

haha very nice. I've been trying to do a drum to disc conversion but I've been lazy. The black would be fine for the drums

Yeah, I accidentally got some paint on the rotors...I think it'll just scrape off when I brake, but I'm gonna see if I can get it off some other way first.

I would of just used that duplicolor caliper paint kit. You can brush it on and its a lot easier.

Nice work so far. The calipers would look better in red IMO.

I went to just about every Autozone/Advance Auto Parts in Bossier City, but I couldn't seem to find the brush on kit in anything but Yellow or Black...does anyone know of another store that carries the kits?

Yeah I got my LEDs off of ebay and installed all of them and they do not work worth a damn lol. Did you have to peel the covering off of the gauge cluster, I have read that it has to be done.

Do you mean the green thing? If thats what you're talking about, then you don't have to. You just gotta twist the little black things so that they pop out, then you can replace the lights with the LEDs.

What I was told (I do not know first hand) is the the gauges are orange stock because they have a film or tint on them and to change to blue you will have to peel that film off. Im trying to do the swap but have not got it yet.

Oh okay, the orange stuff was only on my needles, and I just used sone non-acetone nail polish remover and it comes right off. That's the only place I had to remove orange...do you have an '00-'02 or an '03-'05? I know the front of the gauges are different, but I've never seen the back of the '03-'05 gauges.

So, I got bored and made a grille for my car because I'm too cheap to buy one.

I also installed some Hella Optilux 2500's too. I don't have a pic of them during the day, but here's a couple of night shots.

Just halo's on both

Halo's on the Sonars and foglights on

Grill Looks great and so does your interior. Your breakes are the same color blue as mine, I just brushed the paint on instead of spraying.

Love the color! Not too much the calipers though. I think a nice shade of metallic silver would look great for your car. Like these

Either way good job and keep it clean!

Thanks...I don't know, I'm just really indecisive when it comes to caliper color. I hate red unless its a red or black car, and the silver blends in too much with the car itself for my taste. Still no luck on finding a darker shade of blue either. I want something that catches the eye, but its not too loud.

Great job on the interior LEDs. Does the deck not light up? How did you get the needles to light up blue? In the guides I've looked at I didn't see anything on customizing the guage needles.

Yeah, it lights up, but it still that ugly ass orange, so I left it off for the pics. I plan on getting a new radio anyway, so I just left it. To get the needles to light up blue, I colored the back of the needles with a silver sharpie after I got all that orange crap off of them.

Looks good so far.

I've been debating whether or not I want a spoiler. My friend (who also owns a 3G) says my car looks retarded minus the spoiler and I tend to agree with her since I'm not lowered (yet). I guess I'll look into eventually; I have to take a practice AFOQT tomorrow, so I'll probably forget lol.

Does anyone know of anymore cheap visual mods I could make? I'm really short on cash right now thanks to school and rent, so it'll be like two more years before I can work on suspension and I've pretty much given up on ever going FI...yay for being poor.

Here's a link to a spoiler on eBay.

I plan on getting one eventually from them, and the price is a LOT better than going to a dealer to get one. Unless you don't trust yourself to drill the holes and mount it, then I'm not sure.

Thanks, that's not a bad price at all. I'm gonna try and get on that before July is out.

I do kinda like that. I was planning on doing the rear brake swap anyway, but I may just get new brakes and rotors all the way around, then paint the calipers either black with letters. I don't know, I'm broke until I pay for all my classes and aviation fees, so I've got plenty of time to think about it lol.

Your LED's turned out great, the color looks really uniform. I'm gonna have to redo mine with the wide angle bulbs now

First, I made a cardboard cutout of the opening, then I cut a piece of expanded metal to match, and wrapped the edges in door guard so I didn't scratch the hell out of my bumper (even though its already ruined on the underside lol). To secure it, I used some metal clips I made. I just took some thin metal and shaped it into a hook and used an office holepunch to put a hole in it. I put those on the edge of the opening, and zip tied the grille to the bumper. It was mainly just trial and error till I found something that worked. Its a bitch getting it on the first time you do it, but then it gets easy.

I like the grille and the dash bulbs. I think the brakes look okay.. but could be much better. Does anyone know if the eclipse rotors are steel or aluminium? If they're steel they'll rust if polished.. If they were not steel I would try and polish them up and do a blue accent on the caliper brackets. Heres what it looked like on my z-28:

Btw any more pics of that 80-82 Vette in the background?? I have one hanging around too. This pic was taken right after i put the wheel back on from painting the calipers too.

I LOVE your interior and your grill.... as far as the rotors, not so much.

Personally, the only color I'd ever use to paint mine would be dark red, almost maroon. But I wouldn't do that until I got the car itself painted (black). However, I do think that dark red looks best on cars painted in greyscales (including black and white), so yours would fit the bill..... and I think that would look amazing.

Okay, I've decided to change them to red and see how I like it. Pics sometime next week hopefully.

Yeah, it the same idea. Its just a fish hook shaped piece of metal that I drilled a hole into and ran a zip-tie through it and then through the grill itself. I'll try and get some pics up later.

Well, I realized that I didn't have any pics of my car where it wasn't on jackstands or something like that, so I decided to take some awhile back and never got around to posting them. I changed the calipers to red, and I was sure that I would hate. Turns out its way better than blue (duh).

EDIT 4 Feb 09:
I finally got the car lowered, but my camera is messed up, so the only pics I have are some cellphone pics from about a month ago. The next thing I think I'm going to work on getting is a spoiler, then after that I'll take care of the drum to disc conversion.

I am interested in the upgrades that you have done, first things first, what kind of suspension are you rocking, and do you have better handling, i went from a camaro to my eclipse and i noticed the body roll and i am not happy with it at all, with your car lowered, does it take away some of that body roll, if so a lot?

Yep, like Sh4d0wX7 said, all my mods are in my first post. I used the KYB AGX/Tein S-Tech setup. Handling improvements were like night and day. There's still some body roll, but its been significantly reduced in my opinion. I'm not sure if you can completely eliminate it anyway. I could still use a sway bar and a pair of strut tower bars though.

Thanks, but if you saw all the dings and chips in person, you'd take that back haha. I've thought about getting a new one, but I want a WW kit someday, so I'll just wait and buy it all together.

Sorry I'm a few months late with the pics. The car is in pretty bad shape, and I really hate seeing it that way. Lots of memories in that car...

My dad and I finally got it running today after it just sat for about 10 years. It needs some serious help in the engine bay, but its actually made a lot of progress from where it was. After that, a fresh coat of paint and some interior work and she'll be good as new. Hopefully we can finish getting the engine bay together and fix the interior this summer.

Here's some new pics of the Eclipse too. Nothings changed really, I just got a gauge overlay. The needles light up, you just cant see them since I didn't have the dimmer switch plugged in at the time.

Yeah, these cheapo pads the dealership put on are just about worn down, so I should be getting some less dusty one soon haha.

No problem. Ignore all those wires, I'm still trying to find a good way to route my XM radio. In retrospect, I think the black knob would've been a much better choice. I'm looking at getting a sporty shifter and GS PCM, then putting a boot over the shifter to clean up the look a little bit. I haven't had any luck finding a wrecked 3G though.

Good Lord my car looks insanely dirty in those pics...looks like I'll be vacuuming tomorrow. Its like the camera amplified the amount of dirt lol.
