Hi All- I've been lurking on the site for the past month or so when I first got the car, and finally got around to taking some shots of the new (to me) ride to post up on the site to introduce her and myself.

I purchased the car from the first owner, and it was primarily a weekend summer garage queen, thus only has 45k on the clock despite being 8 years old.

In the month I've had it, I have yet to do any engine or suspension modifications, but have made a few minor cosmetic changes.

Next thing to tackle? Monster truck ride height, and getting the right size tires on there... YYYYeahhhhh, the tires are a little bit to small, (215/45/17) but I had the wheels/tires already from my old car and the stocker GTX wheels that came with the car were so out of round, I had to get these on there until I can afford new rubber and rims.

Here's the car the night I got it, unmodified:

And here are a few shots today after I've made a few changes:

Yeah, I dont' LOVE them either, but am nervous the paint underneath is completely sandblasted garbage from friction/rubbing against the finish with road debris and sand under them. Plus I figure they serve some purpose...

I might take one off to see how bad it looks under there and if the paint can be compounded/pollished....

As for everybody elses comments on lowering it and the ride height... like I said... it's ON THE LIST!!! :agreed: I dont' know how the hell the guys at mitsubishi ever let these roll of the assembly line with the stock ride height! :noplease:

I had Eibach's on my old car (probe gt) with kyb's and loved the handling, but hated the ride quality for daily cruising. Based on my research here, the opinions are varied for which springs are harshest, btween stein's, eibachs, intrax, megan, etc. I think I may try Skunk2's as from what iv'e read they are the closest to stock comfortwise- but the number of poeple running them is limited, so its tough to say that it's accurate that they are the softest. In a world if this car was used purely for carving up corners, I'd probably go with eibachs again, but unfortunately i need a comfortable commute every day as well...

03ECLPSGS - I thoguht about getting smoked or black corners up front as I agree, it would look better with the black 'vents', but i thought it also wouldn't mix well with the stock tails and rear bumper lights. Plus, I just am not a huge fan of smoked anything, unless of course we're talkin about sweet virginia tobacco or lunch meat... I dont' know though, maybe I'll take the heat gun to them, pull htem apart and paint the enclosures gloss black - it may be a good idea!

AGX's arrived!

My AGX's arrived on Saturday, just waiting for the Ingalls Camber Kit from tirerack to show up and then I can get these new struts and springs on!

Oh, and new front tie-rods; going to have to cut the old ones off and replace with moog's.

Also, a few weeks ago I installed the ebay EVO STS and a new ferrari-ish style shift knob...

Once I get her dropped I'll post up some new pic's...

Anybody know where I can get some GT side skirt end caps so I can delete the mud-flaps?

The car is looking good. Waiting for the pics with the drop.

Gentlemen...

A few updates since my last post...

KYB AGXs went in on all four corners as well as Tein S-Tech's. I also compensated for camber change in the rear with the Ingalls kit from TireRack. I ran out of time to be super precise, so I'm going to probably have to adjust that down the road, but as it sits now, I put in two washers per bolt, and it appears that I may have some positive camber that needs to be dialed back.

Either way, I need to get an alignment done, so I'll take care of that in the next few days then address the camber.

Overall driving impressions: Tons of fun, no longer has that soft caddy bounce comfy drop-top in stance... Which is a good thing. I have to admit, last night on my test drive, it was the first time I've had 'fun' driving this car. It actually felt like it could corner.

And now for some pics: (sorry about the leaves, nasty weather out)...

Also, not exactly photograph-able, but here's the Short Throw Shifter, and new knob I got recently via Ebay. I really love it-

Next up? New winter wheels, ETA November 2009, and an 2003 bumper conversion. ETA, Spring 2010...

Hopeing to have some time this weekend to install my new toys...

Got a second set of wheels, the ADR M-Sport's in hyperblack, 17x7's.

And also picked up some carbon fiber look, V3 TYC's- For anybody that's interested I did get them off eBay, and they were under 50 bucks shipped to my door. They appear to be real, unless the counterfitter decided to also make up instructions, paperwork, decals, and boxes with TYC logos all over them. They do not have the lines, the clear lenses have 2 'boobs' protruding from the lamp holes, and under the clear plastic lense, they do have the lip/bevel around the actual round light, but it isn't chrome. The walls of the lense port holes are not chrome, either. For bang for buck, I thoght they were the best option available.

Will post pics when tires are mounted and tails installed!

A few quick (crappy) Cell pics of the new wheels and tails installed-

I don't love the wheels, but like them, and the price was right (apx 85$ each SHIPPED). Tires I already had on hand as well.

Tails I think look pretty damn good and were a good deal as well, 55$ shipped, new authentic TYC's. No lines, but they are not the 1rst gens.

A few little, and a few big changes this spring... :yum:

First off... A shaved tail, and a freshly welded up spolierless trunk lid with a respray... Done right. No plugs or holes left open to rust (or look like ass). Also, a clear bumper lights and a clear third brake light with red LED light. I know not all will like the clears, but I feel like it blends in with the silver the best. I don't like the nightshaded or heavy tinted ones because it draws to much attention to them. I think this is lest noticible. Plus, notice the "shaved" Mitsu and Eclipse script from the bumper cover... I got a new one off Ebay that had these blanked out. Much cleaner.

Next Up: 2003 Bumper conversion sexiness!

I got this and the rear bumper for like 250 shipped in a package. I then had m y local body shop do the prep and paint to shave the front diamond indentation, and the spoiler holes along with the mitsu logo on the back (the sypder mitsu logo has holes under it, it's not just glued).

And the final suprise? A show and Go front plate!

Any ideas on what I should do next? I want to ditch the mud flaps, but can't find the caps anywhere- Ideally that would be my next step. Stealership wants 120 a side!

Thanks, that means a lot to me after the hard work we put into putting this back together last night! We replaced 80% of the hardware and clips. I think that's the key to getting the fit and the gaps right. When you try to reuse, or skip some of the hardware (Because it snapped or whatever) at "Non-critical" locations, things start to subtely fall out of alignment.

For the most part, I was reall ypretty impressed with these aftermarket bumper covers. The fitment was actually very very good. This is partially due to the good design of this car's bumper covers. I've worked with others in the past that were just horrible, but it was more of a design issue than the quality of hte parts.

I have the 03 fog lights on order, so those holes will be filled up hopefully next weekend.

PMed back... For the rest of you: Cohasset Collision

Classy outfit, I'd def. recommend if you are in the Boston area. The trunk didn't come out right the first time. The owner was ringing me up and looked down at it as the paint lackey was carrying it out to my car and he just said "Hold on, that's not leaving like that!" And they redid the whole thing... I didn't even have to ask!

Thanks! As far as future plans, I want to do something custom with the tails, but I really can't decide what will be best. The 2nd Gen TYCs that are on there now look a lot better in the photos than they do in person; they just don't quite fit with the look I'm going for in person.

Other than that, losing the mud flaps, and a shorty warm air intake, I don't think I"ll be doing to much more to it. I'll probably paint the calipers black and get some new rotors when my current pads wear out, but that will be the extent of it unless I can come up with something else. I'll probably also put an optima batter in it this fall as my current battery is on the way out.

I'm looking for input and ideas though, so chime in if anybody has any suggestions!

I agree, and also disagree. I agree that the tails don't look right, but I think smoked or black housing backups and 3rd brake lights dont' make sense either. It probably won't look right with the tails, as the tails are actually fake C/F, not black.

I really have been debating about this all winter and have been unable to come up with a solution I'm happy with. The tail light offereings on our cars are pretty limited, and I haven't had the time to play with making some custom units-
