I didnt know an external antenna came on the gt. But overall the car is pretty clean for the miles it has on it. Got it for a hell of a deal!

just debadge that GT or should i say GI lol. PAint those fake vents black. They pop right out if you stick your hand behind the fender or from under the car. If you didnt know, i can tell you have an aftermarket front bumper. Im not a fan of the chorme emblems so id paint em black. 00-02 have red emblems so the owner before you must have swaped them out.
over all, nice car. i love gunmetal 3gs.

NOGAF 1 year later...
1 YEAR UPDATE
alright, ive loaded the post with photos, so this isnt going to be dail up friendly. The good: the car still looks good (when shes clean anyways) ![]() ![]() and she just passed 120,XXX! celebrated by having minor mechanical/electrical problems worked on ![]() ![]() now comes the bad...i have fitment issues out the wazoo: hood and front bumper ![]() ![]() both head lights and front bumper: ![]() ![]() side panel and head light: ![]() (thats a dead bee wedged in there...) Paint is another issue: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() miss matched paint: ![]() ![]() chipped paint: ![]() ![]() and finaly... A CRACKED DASH BOARD! ![]() instrument cluster cover ![]() other dash pieces ![]() ![]() all in all, i feel like i got jipped by the guy who sold it to me, but your first car is supposed to be a p.o.s. so you can enjoy the other cars you buy. FUTURE UPGRADES (hopefully) Stereo system will be upgraded (the system sucks imho) (please dont flame me) maybe a cherrybomb muffler (again, please dont flame, i leave this youtube video in my defense) and another to calm any anger ![]() if any one knows if the paint is just oxidized or legit-ly screwed, i'd be happy to know. Looks like your silver 3g is suffering from the typical plagues that assail us. Paint cancer, cracked dash, those faded windshield wipers lol.

Lookin' good. You're doing nice changes so far. Start looking into aftermarket lighting next. Preferably black. And of course, it needs a drop.

Well your first picture of under the hood tells me its been wrecked. From what I learned anything with white writing on it means its from a junkyard or something. So as soon as I saw that I already thought that. But thats just what I have been taught.

Serious response: its not that big of a deal to me. and considering on how i just dropped $375 (my dad was awesome and halfed the price with me) on new wheels and tires, i dont think its in the cards at this point Funny response: what, you don't like the drifting style e-brake? Quote:
BTW, if anybodys looking for a set of winter wheels, or some cheap good tires with like 50% tread left, lemme know |

![]() ![]() the car is still the same, but a few interesting things happened over the summer: 1. i was pulled over a total of three times (left of center, license plate in my dash, and 75 in a 60) 2. I worked at my parents lake resort in Missouri and took my car with me. 3. turns out Missouri roads are REALLY fun to drive on. fell in love with my car all over again. 4. car has developed rod knock. fell back out of love. ![]() 5. car has passed the 130XXX marker 6. what i thought was a bad cv joint was fixed by a simple rotation of tires and brake rotors. 7. some guy in a white ford van rear ended me. nothing too serious, all the damage was on my rear bumper which was already messed up. $400 in my pocket ![]() and now its sitting in my parents garage while im away at college. Needless to say, i miss the car a lot. you never really get to appreciate what you've got until its gone. |

Picked up something for my birthday:
![]() Streetlegal gave me some ideas: Before: ![]() and After: ![]() ^^^^^ many thanks to Street legal for photo shopping that picture. Going home next week from college to chill out and work on my car a bit. List of crap that needs to get done: 1. Install projector headlights 2. Install clear turns and reverse 3. Night shade the Tail lights 4. Plasti-Dip the wheels (and all the prep work that goes with it) 5. Order a 6000K HID 6. Order fake grill inserts 7. Change the Oil 8. Maybe give it a really good wash Plasti Dip for the wheels....may post a how to for the forum depending on how well it goes Last edited by SmokinMadness; 10/30/2011 at 06:17 PM. |

Eh, those wheels look pretty bad. Should have gotten black turn signals and reverse lights too.

the white turns where part of a package i got...i think that if i night shaded the turns and reverse light that it would be too much black...nothing to break it up
Anyways...Christmas wish list...hmmmm Ebay 3in cat back exhaust (hoping to get rid of the raspiness of the stock exhaust) 6000K HID lights Repaint/Fix the rear bumper Door panel speakers from Rockford Fosgate with tweeters oh yeah and those f****** plastic grill inserts

FINALLY got around to taking some new pics. Black bumper inserts are finally in, as well as a 8K HID. (Note, i wanted 5K but was given a different set on accident. they work fine in the projectors, so i dont see a reason for replacing them any time soon)

Much obliged
![]() Been thinking about how my rear bumper needs to be resprayed, along with my trunk, and other parts of the car. I dont have the funds for a complete professional respray, so im considering a bunch of different options.... one of them includes wrapping the car in vinyl, or spraying Plasti-dip on it. The results can look amazing imho: ![]() ![]() my only concern is that white paint is going to be such a massive pain in the ass to keep clean. Any thoughts and or opinions? |
