I had to do a covert operation on moving all our vehicles in the middle of this tropical storm earl. So i just decided to snap a couple pictures of my baby getting a nice wash Cause it is raining ridiculously hard over here. And the picture of the bike is just to show off me and my dads show bike. Harley Davidson Road King Custom. This baby has brought home many many trophies =] All Custom. All chrome.

Okay. Take this advice: Black Sonars hands down. Don't go chrome. Depos are very nice too. I would've went with 1g Depos if I had the money.
What about plans for tail lights? |

I went with chrome before I even heard about club3g....and stuck with them till I decided to try out black. Black looks 100x better now that I look back on my old chrome sonars.

But are you talking about the black sonar tails? Personally, I don't mind the stock red tails on white pearl eclipse's, I almost didn't even want to put on my black TYC's because I was afraid I liked my stock tails more. But I fell in love with my black tyc's, but the stock tails look good (IMO). |

If you're talking about these...I suggest you don't get them. They don't look good at all IMO. I got the same ones for my car a while back. They don't look as black as they make it seems. It's definitely lighter.

They don't make them anymore. That is why the black TYC tails go for so much $$$ on the forums (usually 100-150, sometimes more). I have found some on craiglists. What you can do is look on your craigslist at used cars, and if you see any eclipse with them, contact the seller and see if they will trade taillights+some cash.

I have pics of them on my members ride thread.
If you must get those altezzas. They MUST be tinted. Like the ones I just recently tinted. I just tinted around the circles. |

There is a few ways to do this. Let me explain.
1. Rico buys 3genGT's old tinted stockers. Problem solved. Or 2. 3genGT sells his most current tinted altezzas to Rico. Then 3genGT puts on his old tails. Then I buy the elegantes to tint for myself. ![]() Or 3. 3genGT buys the chrome elegantes to tint FOR Rico. Then he pays me for them. Problem solved. Shipping won't be cheap however. haha |

It's too bad that you live so far away. Otherwise, it would be easy.
But seriously, those are the possibilities you have. Or the final choice would be: Grow some nuts and niteshade a pair yourself!! haha ![]() Shipping cost too much nowadays. Cost me $35 to ship a pair of headlights a while back. |

Shipping won't be cheap? Well, if you have him tint tails for you, lets just say the price of the tails + shipping, I am going to assume will be around 100 bucks.
So, it might be cheaper to buy his tails, but not sure. Or, you can try to tint some tails maybe find a set of someone's old stock tails, and practice on one of the sets, till you get it perfect (so you have no down time for your car).

Yeah, my old black sonars with 6000k HID's that I sold to a member here a few months ago (he paid 90 bucks), I quoted him for like 25 dollars shipping (apparently I must've effed up on the UPS quoting lol), and it actually cost me 50 bucks to ship the headlights from the west coast to the east coast.

I personally would say cover the circles, then tint. It looks better. More sophisticated IMO. Everyone blacks out their tails these days. Here is your procedure.
1. Wetsand the tails with 800 grit sandpaper. 2. Wipe/dry them off. 3. Use painters tape to cover up the circles. 4. Niteshade doing light coats at a time. 5. After niteshade, wait for them to dry for a couple hours. 6. When dry to the touch, remove the painters tape. 7. Wetsand with 1000 grit sandpaper carefully (not too hard) but throughly. 8. Wipe/dry off lights. 9. Use Krylon crystal clear to clear coat the tails. Light coat first. Then a generous coat (not TOO much, so you can avoid drips) a few minutes after the first coat. 10. After multiple coats of clear, the tails should already look shiny. 11. I always add this step...wait for clear to dry over a couple hours, then you wetsand with 2000 grit sandpaper. 12. Use 3M Rubbing Compound(yes, get 3M!! and an orbital buffer!!) Apply a little 3M on the tails, then buff the crap outta them! lol 13. May have to repeat step 12 a couple times. 14. Wipe off with microfiber cloth after buffing. 15. Same as step 12, but use some Plast X Plastic Polish. Not necessary though. Last edited by 3genGT; 09/05/2010 at 12:17 AM. |

how many different cans am i buying. haha. Wel i was going to do all of what you said except for that buffer thing. Might have to add that step too. I cant deny your method cause your tails look good. |

You will buy:
1. Can of VHT Niteshade 2. Can of Krylon Crystal Clear coat Gloss 3. 800, 1000, 2000 grit sandpaper 4. A buffer is highly recommended. I used to hand polish, but just couldn't get the shine that I could with a buffer. It also gets the job done in a fraction of the time. |
