I also ripped apart the 2000 model today before I got the 6G75. Again, please excuse the crappy cell phone pics. I'll do more tomorrow. I removed the front end from the car. My plan is to install the front fascia from my 2004 on this car. I think it might help with the resale value.

Thank you sir. I haven't been able to do any work on it today. Really sucks. I hope to be home later and get some work done. I'm stuck doing husband stuff today.

Here's a little something I'm working on. It's not much considering the tools, or the lack there of, I have. Just a simple drimmel and some elbow grease. My plan is to work on one port a night. I don't have much more time than that. Anyway.....pics

My fuel rail. It's not finished.

On the engine.

Make sure when you do the upper manifold as well that you don't take the ends of the runners all the way out unless you can guarantee they will line up perfectly (which you can't really). I'm impressed with your initiative. DIY portwork is my favorite part of these projects.

Thanks for the tip. I'm stuck right now trying to decide on the 74 or 75 intake. I really like the 75 and it would be fairly easy to polish, but more hassle with the install.

Only issue with the 75 manifold is it doesn't clear the hood. If you're willing to cut it, you'll benefit the extra 10whp. If not, the 74 still poops on the stocker POS.

I really do not want to cut my hood or install an aftermarket. I'll figure it out once I get to the point of install. I just really wish I had more time to work on it.

i still want to see a custom lower manifold (short runners due to clearance issues) to put a roots supercharger where the upper manifold would be.

Rusty : who are you?
Wow, I'm impressed! Sounds like you really mean to take this car somewhere. Are you planning on FI?

Also, I'd recommend getting a grill for that front bumper.
One more thing, could you take some more pictures of your side skirts? I kind of like the look but am wondering if they stick out from the body.

Good luck with the swap.

I'm not sure if I'll go FI or stay NA. It really depends on how the AWD project turns out.

The grill/Airdam is already built, but I'm not installing it until I install the 75. I have a very nice plan for the front bumper.

Here's a few pics of the side. Let me know if this is what you're looking for. If not I'll snap a few more from whatever angle you're looking for.

They're called Angel Gauges, almost half the 3G's on this site have them.

Go on ebay and search "angel gauges eclipse".

Ah, they do stick out from the body. Could you take (or PM me some close ups of the skirts themselves? particularly the end next to the rear wheel well. I like the contours and how they flow with the door panels, but I'm still unsure about how much they stick out towards the back. If I can get a better look, I might seriously consider getting a pair of these.

Very nice. Your car definitely looks different from all of the other black 3g's on here, and in a good way. I'm just waiting for the day that you change those stock tails to some that fit in more. Maybe some clear black turns too?

More pics. This install is "STUPID EASY". If you can't do this, you need to .......Never mind.

Nice job on the tails, that's a steal!

As for the ebay post, yeah I saw that. I'm going to do a little more searching before I put $230 dollars down for those.

It's been a while so I thought I'd upload a couple of pictures. Sorry it's taking me so long to do this install. I don't have an engine stand or puller right now. A friend of mine is going to let me borrow his when he's done with his install. In the mean time I'm polishing parts so I'll have something to do.

These are still a work in progress. I'm still working on it.

Your car is the reason I "almost" bought the torque kit, but shes a beaut man. Not a fan of the whole big box in the trunk for your system but you said its a work in progress so ill hold the criticism till its finished, I just dont like the speakers facing towards the trunk like that, it would be much better to cut the box diagonally so when you open the trunk, the speakers are facing straight at that person. but so far its really good work

BX-Romeo : who are you?
[QUOTE=puckett69;2909671]I've been a member here for a long time, but this is my first member's ride post. Now before you all start to hate on me, I need to clear some things up. First, I had the body kit before becoming a member, and at the time it was the only kit I could find that l really liked and that did not match anything around my location. Second, I know the car is 4x4ing right now, but thanks to "joeyoey0" in vendor sales I now have a set of Megan coilovers on the way to my house. Well, I hope you all enjoy the car. I sure do.

2004 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT
Torque body kit
Flowmaster catback exhaust
Motegi 18" wheels
Angel eye Projector Headlights
Kenwood KVT-516 headunit
Bone stock engine
Big 3 upgrade
New cluster gauges/cover

On the way
New windshield
Megan coilovers front and rear
Smoked turn signals
I was thinking about painting the body kit's grill inserts black. Thoughts

Where did you get your gauge overlay? I've been looking for gauge overlays but I can only find one for my Manual 2004 Syder GS.

Gotta say man, I enjoyed hanging out the other night. I really wish I would have had my Eclipse instead of the Stealth in hattiesburg when we met up lol..
Everyone says the car looks really good, but you just gotta see it in person to really appreciate it. It's a true work of art and an inspiration for me for when the time comes for my body work.

You know I got an engine stand sitting here in my house right now, huh? lol If you want to borrow it let me know.

Good job on everything man. Especially that polishing! lol If you need any help with anything just msg me. I'd enjoy helping with anything 3g related

Yeah, it was cool hanging out with you too. I might take you up on your offer to help when I get ready to install my 3.8L. Thanks for the comments.

Thank you. I'm going at it a little at a time. I'm very pickey about my car and how it looks.

New updates for you guys. I'm one step closer to installing my 3.8L engine. I've been working on the car every day after work since Thursday of last week. I was unable to do any work to it over the weekend though. Ok, enough talk.

The engine from my Spyder will be transplanted into the red 2000 model. I'll be using the front bumper cover from my 2004 on it.

I'll be able to go get the engine puller this weekend. Tweeter has my parts now and I'm just waiting for him to finish them. On a side note, I noticed that those 2000 model dual piston calipers and rotors are a direct fit on my 2004. I'll be using that set on my car and installing the single piston calipers from my car on the 2000.

Yep, I love the dual piston calipers cause they look so much bigger. They only came on the 2000 gt models, and are also a direct bolt on for other models. I guess you got lucky having that 2000 gt sitting in your yard
If you decide you need extra help with the engine let me know!

Thanks man. I LOVE my Spyder. It's the only car I have ever owned that I just refuse to get rid of. This is the first car I've ever owned for more than 3 years.

I don't understand Mitsubishi's logic behind the swap in calipers. The rotors are exactly like the 2004 model. The only difference in the calipers is the two pistons and longer length brake pads. Other than that it's a direct fit between the two cars. In fact, I've already installed my 2004 setup on the 2000 model.

How would you like to come over maybe Wednesday or Thursday night and work on the car? I should have my intake and valve cover back from tweeter on Tuesday. I'm almost finished with the 2000 model. I installed the engine over the weekend. All I need to do is get fluids in it and button up a few odds and ends and I'll be ready to fire it up.

The 3.8L is in. Now I need to wire it, fill it with fluids, fix the front header and mid pipe, and button up a few odds and ends and she'll be running. Please excuse the cell phone pics and lack of photobucket. I can't access photobuckt from work. I'll try to take and post better pics tonight.
