------------------------------------------------Original Post dated 23 August 2010--------------------------------------------------------

I've been a member here for a long time, but this is my first member's ride post. Now before you all start to hate on me, I need to clear some things up. First, I had the body kit before becoming a member, and at the time it was the only kit I could find that l really liked and that did not match anything around my location. Second, I know the car is 4x4ing right now, but thanks to "joeyoey0" in vendor sales I now have a set of Megan coilovers on the way to my house. Well, I hope you all enjoy the car. I sure do.

2004 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT
Torque body kit
Flowmaster catback exhaust
Motegi 18" wheels
Angel eye Projector Headlights
Kenwood KVT-516 headunit
Bone stock engine
Big 3 upgrade
New cluster gauges/cover

On the way
New windshield
Megan coilovers front and rear
Smoked turn signals
I was thinking about painting the body kit's grill inserts black. Thoughts

Not too bad. Can't wait to see it dropped.

The front bumper doesn't look that bad. I suggest you at least paint the mesh on the corners black since right now it draws too much attention. It would look a lot cleaner if the mesh wasn't gray. You should also tint the turn signals black.

The rear is what really should have been left alone. It just doesn't look good. If anything, paint the mesh parts black. It will look better in my opinion. Maybe do something with those tail lights as well. Black em out? Get some TYC's or...up to you. No chrome though.

Other than that, the car looks pretty clean and doesn't look extremely ricerific.

Car looks super clean and once the coil overs are on it will look even better. If that car was any other color the kit would be an overkill.

I dont think the body kit is that bad. There are tons worse on this page.
stock is great too, always great but this body kit doesnt make it ugly to me.
We all have our opinions and taste

Main thing its a pretty good car. The body kit isnt soo different that it changes the whole structure of the car. The back bumper is a little extreme but Nevertheless its a Clean car.

I actually think that kit looks good, except the front bumper sticks out a little too much. Since your car is black it looks good.

Can't wait to see it dropped it will look dope.

Also I think you should paint all those grilles black

Thanks for the thoughts and comments guys. I'll get new pictures up as soon as I install the new coilovers. My new smoked turn signals will be here this Wednesday and I'll go ahead with my first thought of painting the grills black. Question: Should I paint the front grille and reinstall it or just leave it out. I thought it looked better without one, but now I'm thinking if it was black it might work better. Thoughts

I say before you paint all the grilles black, put the front grille in first and see if it looks good how it is now. If not, then you can just paint them all black.

Maybe you should chrome them to go with the other chrome accents you seem to be doing. I'm actually REALLY surprised at your car. You've pulled off that kit + chrome wheels really well, which traditionally don't look very good on this vehicle.

Nice job; +1 for keeping it clean. More pics of the audio system please!

[edit] you need some TYC blacks on that bad-boy.

Thanks jaloosk. I looked for TYC's all over the place. Everywhere I looked said they were discontinued. I have decided to tint my stockers for now. I don't have anymore pictures of my audio system yet. I'm currently building it. I can at least give you a list of the stuff I have though.

I don't like the body kit, though I may have a different opinion after it's lowered.

I like the wheels.

That's probably your best bet for now...dont forget to clear coat them.

Keep your eye on the 'for sale' section here...they pop up from time-to-time.

Here's a couple of new pictures of the audio install from tonights work. I decided to fiberglass me a sub box in the trunk. This is the second layer of fiberglass. I'll take more tomorrow after it sets.

i usually dont like the color black because it hides a lot a details on the car, but the black on your car with is doing a good job hiding that hideous body kit.

WOW

That is an overall nice ride! very clean and when everyone get finished saying what they DO NOT like, it is still an Eclipse. GREAT work to it, kit and all. Chrome LOOKS GREAT. Good way to break-up the black. Most people don't like chorme on this car but I have chrome and no pictures up for people will shoot it down. In the Mid-West most cars ride on chrome. But it's what you like, your style, and your area, if you rock chrome, steel, painted rims or whatever. GREAT JOB with the car I have a Red Spyder keep up the good work. Plus I did NOT see anyone that downed your ride show trophies either...

Thanks for all the comments guys. Both the good and the bad. The exhaust is not dual all the way to the front. It just has a cross over pipe and an extra flowmaster muffler in order to balance the look. I can try to post a sound clip, but it will have to be later. I'm in the Military and they have blocked so much content. I can't even see my own pictures from this computer. No photobucket, you tube, etc. I'll have to post it from my home computer.

All V6 Spyders from 2003 and up were given the GTS engine. I believe you do have a GT. What makes them different is the interior and the wheels.

The color of the interior. It's mentioned here: Club3G Forums - FAQ I know the wheels are a little different, the GTS' have a shinier film than the GT's. The stock stereo may also come into play, I'm not sure.

Is it the 6 disc changer that fills up the whole space or the stereo that leaves a space between the stereo and HVAC controls?

It's the single din radio that leaves a space.
