Me too, lol. I should be updating pictures tonight with the CCFL's installed. I let everything cure overnight. OEM ballasts are extremely sensitive to water so I just wanted to be safe and mount them in the headlights and silicone the cracks.

OKAYYYY... so my car is getting a decent amount of work done this week, both mechanical and cosmetic.
On Tuesday, all of the mechanical work will be done to the car and then it will be sent to get a FULL PAINT JOB. It will be OEM Kalapana Black. I was wondering if I should get my vents and emblems color matched black? - Timing Belt - Water Pump - Accessory Belts - Spark Plugs - AC Condensor - Several Gaskets - Castrol Syntec Full Synthetic Oil change with Mobil One Filter - And some other minor tune-ups |

maybe try a darker gunmetal with some metal flake in it to give it a little more shine to it.

It does have some flake in it, I think the issue may be I did not clear coat them. I think I prefer them as gunmetal accents to go with the gas lid, wheels and emblems so I think a clear coat on them will help.

I used a gloss on my fake vents, but I've got the 03+ front so mine are smaller and harder to see. Use some Krylon Fusion gloss clear, hopefully it'll help bring out that metal flake shine.

I have done a few minor mods lately, mostly touching up existing ones.
I added 8mm spacers to the rear wheels to fill in the gap. New offsets: Front: 35mm Rear: 27mm Before: ![]() After: ![]()

I had a project in process of painting my wheel wells, touching up my calipers, struts and rotors and had to grab more paint. I ran up to auto zone and saw these spacers. I figured I already had the wheels off and have wanted to grab a set for a while so I tried it out.:yes way: I don't recall the brand, but they only had one brand at Autozone.

PROBLEM!!!
Well my Falken 512 tires have roughly 8,000 miles of daily driving, a good portion highway, and they are basically shot. The rear tires have cupping issues and the fronts are at a little over half tread life, this combination makes the loudest tire drone at 45+ you can imagine, it makes my Invidia exhaust seem like pleasant background music. The culprit... I am assuming it is my loose Right Front End Link... I have ordered Front Moog End Links to be put on Thursday, anything else I should have thrown on while it is torn apart? After getting my alignment looked at it also seems I have almost a degree of negative camber up front, so I am going to have front camber kits put on, the negative camber not only wears the tires but makes the ride more harsh. Open to suggestions, bushings?, etc....? and new tire suggestions, ALL SEASON ONLY, Discount Tire is warrantying them out for me since I have the certificates, all new shocks/struts, and had a receipted alignment within a week of my new tires being put on back in October. It pays to CYA and do things right! |

It is always funny when random mechanics look at my car. Wondering what's up with the brakes and such. I even had one mechanic that looked at my car from a Firestone write as a note that I painted my Struts and Shocks red. ![]() Today was around $200 of nonsense to just line up the car up so my next set of tires lasts more then 5,000 before getting annihilated. ![]() Hopefully my next set of tires is a littler better, I am considering the Continental ExtremeContact DWS. |

So I had enough time to get in the Prothane side and front motor mounts in, along with the new crossmember bushings. The tranny and rear mount are currently still OEM. The vibration is currently about what I had before, the front mount was blown. There is only vibration at idle in the steering wheel... sometimes.
I am not sure if anyone would know which mount transfers the most vibration to the cabin, if any. I think I remember reading somewhere the rear mount was the main culprit for this issue. Anyways, at this point it seems like a safe bet to put in the other 2 mount and see what the whole package feels like. Note: If you didn't notice, I have all solid Prothanes which I am expecting to raise the overall rigidity of the setup, along with the vibration. |
