Moar Pics!!!!
Did you buy it already modded? Or have you been piecing them together and building it yourself? edit: Didn't see that dc sticker at first. That needs to go. I'd also remove that license plate cover....It just gives the cops a reason to pull you over and check you and your shit out. Last edited by 18027; 09/08/2011 at 10:06 PM. |

Bought it from a friend like this then added the fog housings and the HID's in them. Need new engine mounts so probably Prothane's. I want to do other things like get new coil-overs for the front, maybe a lip?
Oh and another pic! Got a few more too...

I agree with all the comments above, this is a very nice 3G. What is the name of this color you painted the car to?

The car is the original burgandy that came stock. The car has everything tinted and then was wrapped in vinyl over the hood, roof, trunk and spoiler. It looks different than any other 3g I've seen. Only problem, 2 weeks after I got the car, an employee kee'd the hood. still don't know who it was...

The vinayl is holding up alright but I may eventually get it redone. I get bird droppings off as soon as I see them but even with this effort, it still leaves small marks. These pictures were all shot in raw mode and then edited in HDR mode in the editing software. I simply makes shots look beautiful. DC sticker will be coming off next.
I may be opening a can of worms, but any suggestions on performance mods that are sub $1K? |

You want to replace those stock struts ASAP. They were not designed to handle the lowering springs and will cause other things to wear and go bad.
Besides that for <1k there is nothing "performance" you can really do. All the bolt ons for this car are for show and sound really. |

So besides engine swaps turbo charging it, what other performance things would help? And I know I will have to spend more than 1K on them. |

For performance, speed and power your looking at engine swaps and FI, not much else
For handling, you need to lower the car properly, there are plenty of threads on the recommended lowering spring/strut combos out there, and plenty of threads on rear sway bar/endlinks, rear strut bar and motor mounts |

there's cams but they are expensive. Maybe brakes, you got evo brembos or at the least diamante calipers for the front. good set of headers is kind of worth it (really it's mainly the cats that clog it up). If you do exhaust don't expect gains, just sound. You could do a rear sway bar fro handling or a rear strut bar.

Just got the silver one from grillcraft it's actually a solid sturdy piece and fits great. I would recommend that in the 5 piece kit from carid.com. They had a great price for it

Just emailed Tein about the bad coilover and to get a quote on the price of a new coilover. HAHA WHAT A JOKE. They told me that a new front coilover for the 04 eclipse would be $410. They do offer a maintenance service which is $75 to replace seals and everything plus the cost of repair to the dampener. I guess that is what I'll go with as I would like to keep it Tein.

It's weird because I always think to myself that there are hardly any 04's out there because I never really come across any. 04's and 05's seem kind of rare, maybe 3G sales were down during the last two years of production.
![]() Nice ride though. |

What are you talking about? There are plenty of 04-05's out there. Just because you don't come across that specific year model around the area where you live doesn't mean that there isn't a lot out there.

Now you see why Tein has a bad rep on this platform.

I have a 6th sense when it comes to Eclipse model years.
![]() Nah but seriously what I meant was on these forums I don't see a lot of 04's and 05's, but it's probably just because I'm new here, Also, occasionally I'll do a Craigslist or Autotrader search for 3G's just to see what's out there, and I hardly ever see anything higher than 03's. But maybe it's just my area or maybe people are still holding on to their 04's and 05's.

Beautiful car sir. May I suggest wrapping the fog lights in yellow film, so that it will look really good when the lights are off and also it will give the light output a more yellow color. To me the 3000k look really golden.
This is what the fogs would look like with the yellow film (look at the maxima in the middle)

I believe that the calipers are just a high temp red brake caliper paint that can be had at any Autozone or car part store. I will have to check to make sure as it was iowa_GTS that painted them |
