Today I just felt ah wth. Anyway, got this around Dec. 2010. It had 133k miles at that time. It was a bad buy, got a little impulsive 'coz I've always been a 3g fan since it came out. I hardly knew anything about cars, while searching I stumbled upon this site and has been of great help ever since. I've kinda grown to love this pos car though. Now I have been busy finishing up maintenance (almost done tranny fluid service left) while doing small mods here and there. Maybe next year I could do some big mods. I guess the saying goes "Rome wasn't built in a day." Bought - Dec. 2010 When I first got it. Purely stock, with cancerific blemishes: ![]() ![]() ![]() After the winter... freakin cancer got worse ![]() ![]() ![]() A member here Chaz01gt (thanks man!) referred the guy that painted his 3g. Did a great job (not 100% perfect) but did not charge arm and leg. I was just happy the cancer is gone. Now I just need to get it wet sanded & buffed for a better finish ![]() ![]() ![]() Interior shots ![]() ![]() Engine bay ![]() Updated engine bay shot with more powder coated parts

I know, lowering will be the popular suggestion. But not really ready yet. For now, some random old pics.
4x4 ftw! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Had nothing better to do today and the rain stopped, so I painted my calipers ![]() ![]() ![]() I used VHT Caliper paint and Dupli-color high-temp engine clear coat (not sure if it will do any good) ![]() ![]()

Ha ha I guess minus the racing part. If you look at the gauge face I messed up in some areas when I removed the amber. I had no idea that acetone was that strong. I am considering lowering it, I will see when I get my mod budget next year. |

Nice looking car. A paint job can fix so much, but the color of the car is awesome, and you got some good ideas working with it. I like the interior light conversion as well. Keep us posted.

lol You too? The messed up areas are kinda covered by the bezel so It's not that bad. But I do have a donor gauge face that I'll replace it with when I get spare time That's what my neighbors said! Ha ha I don't mind helping you out on this (before it starts to get cold.) Let me know.

I know black is one of the hardest colors to keep clean and maintain. Ha ha.. yea. I'm not doing any big mods until all maintenance is finished. So we'll see next year.. it is in my future mod list anyway ![]() We'll I did a quick photoshop of a drop on my car. Don't mind the edges as I was in a hurry. I must say it looks nice. This will sound kinda weird, but it is a diff feeling seeing it on your car (the drop) than seeing it all the time in other peoples cars. I might be lookin to drop it sooner than I think. ![]()

Our cars look kinda alike just saying
Except your wheels are better, I'm pretty jealous. But looks like we are both going for the same look except your funds are a little better than mine it seems lol. I'm also rocking the "poor mans brembos" but its hard to see in the pic.

That was originally my plan but the part of compressing the piston, I got kinda hesitant that I'll screw my brakes and start a problem. As you can see I just work off the sidewalk.. I don't own a garage. There was a threat of rain that day too, so I had to do it the quickest way possible. I was more on to the experience on doing it first hand as I'm just learning about cars.

I did it the same way, but mine are silver. It was just easier honestly. And I plan on upgrading in the future, so yea.

Couldn't have said it better about the calipers. The cancer... that was a horrible feeling seeing it whenever I get near the car. It got kinda embarrassing too at one point.

Thanks man! Your ride is lookin nice too! The swtichbacks I just saw them from a post by Scarr... he had the link there too where he bought his. If its not v-leds.com it's vleds.com. Or if you could locate that thread to be sure.

Search n00b! jkMan... if only you weren't a Phillies fan. Ok better yet, here's the whole thread. there's even a video of how it works. Post #1 and #27 is what you need. Vled "switchback" front turn signals? ohhh yeah. Last edited by grfft3r; 10/03/2011 at 09:19 PM. |
