So good news and bad news, good news act xtss is good for gobs of torque, 429wtq to be exact, and it's certainly holding well now, turns out I was being robbed of power and torque by the slipping clutch, car got tossed on the dyno again after the the clutch replacement and ltw flywheel, gained 27whp and 24wtq, for a total of 231whp and 280wtq on 14psi on an evo 8 16g. bad news is my left calf is in for a work out

![]() ![]() 255/40/17 RS-3s, which are almost a good inch wider than my NT-05s on the volks haha. wheel gap is larger because of the slightly smaller overall diameter from going to 17s. Fits perfect with no rubbing anywhere even @ full lock... also relocated the small battery i had, removed the battery tray, fabbed up two small L brackets to bolt to the bracket that held up the battery tray, and then cut and welded the battery tie down to work. fits great and moves the battery almost a foot back and eliminates the heavy tray. Pics of that in the am.

Re: Greddy's Daily Driver Galant :)
You should re do those wheels in bronze or silver. The 2 blues clash a bit.

lolololol, they're growing on me, they will eventually go a different color but for now I really don't care, one thing i hate is that the SSRs have a much larger center bore than the volks which requires me to run a different set of hubcentric rings for each set of wheels
here's the battery relocation, not much, but saves 2.5 pounds and moves the battery further back, I would say it's right under the strut tower bar, the small battery saved like 20 pounds from my old one.

Its a great battery. Power mods are done for now wanna see how it does at the track. Car is getting stiffer springs all around rear adjustable toe arms with spherical bearings and lowering the rear a tad. Then alignment and corner balance

AMR engineering coilovers, evo 8 brembo brakes w/raybesto st43 pads. Ingalls camber kit. Waiting on one more piece to hopefully become available and the back suspension will never be touched again. Also put in 12K rear springs in anticipation of adding aero in the near future.

245/40/18 NT05s on the volks and 255/40/17 Hankook RS3s on the SSRs, also have a set of BFG R1 slicks on the same size to try out once the RS3s are toast. Cars with
Macpherson strut suspensions up front need a lot of static camber up front, only thing I'll give up is slightly less grip for braking compared to my previous specs of -2 up front, but the cornering speeds will be higher so I can't complain.

so, replacement clutch fork came in, also replaced the bleeder on my slave cylinder with an M10x1.0 speed bleeder, makes bleeding an easy 1 man job, I have a spare one in case anyon wants to buy it. Already replaced all 8 bleeders on the brembo so this was the last step for ease of maintenance. Tranny goes back in tonight.

Glad I'm not the only one that was confused...., anyways, turbo track debut is just a month away, I can't wait to see my lap times drop
New clutch fork and pivot ball make for incredibly smooth shifts I must say.

3 turboback Picked up 500-700 rpms of faster spool, 2 psi more of boost up top, and the sound is perfect, only photo so far, will have sound clips soon. still quiet at cruse but really throaty and loud when I let it rip. I love the way it sits in the bumper now.

hahahaha, I'm not trying to make it look like an evo, the wing is highly functional, it came of an E36 M3 race car that's getting an even bigger dual element wing, it's called a PTG wing. The rear end grip will be significantly increased with this wing. But yes it's kind of a joke considering the wing will never see the light of day on the street. It'll go back on my stock trunk if I do end up getting it and be put on for track days. That's it. It's "ricey" yes, but very very funcitonal, and yes, my car needs rear downforce.

By increasing rear down force, aren't you sacrificing lateral grip in the front, which you want with a FWD car?

I have plenty of grip up front with my camber settings, tires, and diff, my main issue now is controlling the way the car rotates. At this point it rotates exceptionally well in low speed corners which I like but this transfers to some unwanted twitchiness on the higher speed corners. All 4 of the tracks in my area have a 50/50 mix of high/low speed corners so I'm trying to basically dial out a tad bit of twitch when I'm going into a corner at 80 miles an your such as turn 10 @ Portland international which then immediately translates into turn 11 which you enter at about 90 if you're doing it right. It's pretty hairy when you feel the rear skittering about at those speeds in a fwd car. As for speeds, I was hitting 105 naturally aspirated before braking at the ends of the main straights @ PIR, with the boost and the newly refreshed and revamped suspension I will be picking up a ton of speed since I'll probably be exiting the corners leading to the straights 3-5mph faster now, more so when I go from RS-3s to slicks. Add to that the 100whp and 150wtq I picked up and I think the use of downforce is more than justified. I have the suspension set up just how I like it at this point, with the only fault being the fact that it just scares me a tad in those high speed corners, by dialing that out with the wing I'll be looking at better laptimes. I only need a little downforce but the wing is essentially free so I couldn't turn it down and with the adjustable AOA I can tinker with it.
