angel 87s' 03 GT
My (new to me) 2003 eclpise gt. Completely bone stock except for the shifter lol. I did alot of research and a lot of reading on this car in this forum and in a month or so I'll begin to make my mark on this car. I'm also open to any suggestions anyone may have..
Upgrades to come... CAI 2" drop on adjustable coilovers/rear camber kit Dual halo sonars with hids Hids for the fogs Paint rims black Smoked tail, bumper and 3rd brake light HVAC leds Flowmaster exhaust New headers New tires (toyo or yokahama) New spoiler New rotors/ceramic pads Short throw shifter Not in that particular order but yea. There's more I want to do but I don't think that's a bad starting list of things to do.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Thanks.. Glad to see a member who doesn't live to far from me. If you still have those rotors and pads by the time i free up some money to buy them I'd be happy to take them off your hands. PM me with your asking price

Clean stocker! You should also debadge the side v6 24v things and the GT on the back. Consider taking the seat covers off as well, if the side air bag go off they might hinder their ability to work as intended
![]() EDIT: are those seat covers or cloth seats? my tired eyes are having a hard time with that detail at that angle. |

Do not get ceramic brake pads. Those are more akin to drink coasters than to actual brakes. A real carbon-ceramic setup is thousands of dollars. EBC Redstuff or Hawk HP+ should do the trick. Also, Yokohama tires may not be what you are looking for. I have had two sets come with cars, and I hated both of them.

The Yokohamas on stock evos are garbage. You can ask almost any evo owner about that. Get some Hankooks V12 for summer tires and blizzaks for winter. If you just want all season tires, kumho ecstas or continental DWS are good tires.

I own an Evo. The Yokos are easily the worst tires I have ever experienced. Easily.
Federal RS-R (not for the rain) Nitto NT555 Dunlop Star Specs Hankook Ventus V12 Kuhmo Ecsta Fuzion ZRi (supposedly) All good tires. Toyo is meh. |

I had a set of Toyo's on my sebring. I burned through them in about 7000 kms. They sucked. I had a set of Yokohama S-Drives on my eclipse. I loved those tires. It was just a crap alignment on the rears that ruined them, otherwise they were really good imo. I currently have Nitto NeoGen's and am thoroughly pleased with them so far. I have read several poor reviews on the Nitto NT555, but have not tried them myself.

I have had 4 sets of NT555's, now. If you are lazy about having them rotated, they do start to make noise. However, they are grippy as all get-out and are great in the rain. If you are certain to rotate the rear up to the front every few thousand miles, you will not have a problem with them. They are well worth the effort.

Here is what I would do:
Evolution VIII/IX wheels Dunlop Star Spec tires Evolution VIII Brembo swap Ferodo DS2500 pads Centric Premium rotors BC Racing coilovers New bushings/swaybars Urethane motor mount inserts Exedy Stage 1 clutch Headers/Exhaust/Intake Spend your time learning how to PnP EVERYTHING (TB, intake manifold, everything) |

Ok so nitto sounds like a good tire to go with. I considered yokahamas because I worked for mitsubishi a couple years ago and they seemed to get the job done on the evo I drove. But I trust your opinion on them. The rims, evo brake swap and alot of the engine work (except the cai and headers) I want to save for last. I want to get the cheaper cosmetic things done first (lights, drop exhaust...)

What do you need lights, for? Your stockers work just fine. Save for the BC coilovers. That is a start. Then, start looking around for wheels. You can find some serious deals on EvoM. Hell, the 18" Enkeis are going for $500. That is dirt cheap. Only when would I start messing with the motor. As I said, make it a side project. Learn how to port manifolds and throttle bodies. It isn't hard, it just requires patience. Save while you do that (take 6 months), get a 6g74 (hold off on the exhaust until you do so), and then have fun. You will get caught up in the cosmetics, and this project will go nowhere. I have seen it happen to many times, on this site. "Get the Halos..." How about no. The stock lights are fine.

I'm coming off a car that I couldn't do anything to make look more agreessive or make look how I want it to. I could put almost any mustang performane part in my old car which I pretty much did. So now that I own a car I can make look good that what I want to work on as well as making the car handle better and faster to whoop on all the ricey hondas in my area and some track days. Cosmetics are as important to me as performance.

I was driving a 1988 mercury cougar ls with a swapped in 5.0. And that car could never look aggressive. It had no market for aftermarket parts which is why i used mustang parts. But u can make a mustang look good. And you don't think a mustang 302 boss laguna seca looks aggressive?

Thanks! I'm thinking of swapping it out for a smoked led 3rd brake light and the drop eill happen next spring. South jerzy is known to have some hectic winters and i dont want to risk riding around in the snow on a lowered car.

So it's been a while since i've been on here and posted. been laid off since december so I haven't been able to do any real upgrades but I did upgrade the halos to ccfls and love them
![]() ![]() ![]() I also scored these from my coworker with 90% tread left ![]() I have to lower my aspectations on what i'm going to lower my car on so I decided to go with kyb agxs. I thought I would be a little futher along with her than I am but shit happens and i'm still at it tho. |

is it just me but do you only have 3 lug nuts on the wheel?
By the time you spend on a proper set up with agx's and springs you could of bought coilovers for a few more bucks. Unless you can get something used |

Yeah just 3 lugs on the wheels lol. They were to wide to fit in the lug holes. So I just wanted to see what they look like on my car. I got the right lugs now. Your right about buying the coils. I'm saving up to move to north Carolina in about 5 months so saving the1000 for coils is not realistic. I got a good deal ahead of me for used kybs almost new. With 1000 miles on them. So I'm gonna go with those until I get settled
