In the order of what I can afford/plan to get done:
-35% tint Sides, 20% rear -90k Maintenance -08 OEM Projectors (Eventually HID) -Lowered by TRD Struts and Springs Btw, installed my TYCs last night.. They are fucking bright as hell. So I'm going to hold off on replacing the LEDs until maybe the summer. They need a good polish and a new clear coat. Pic incoming.. Small Update: Finally got in the other headlight! I managed to score a pair of OEM 2008-10 Projectors on eBay for $154 shipped
(OEM is the only way to go for decent projectors on this platform unless you get a retrofit).A little eBay sniping, and I was able to pick them up in good condition for less then half the price of ordering new ones. TRDSparks.com has them for $214 a piece and that's the best price I've found for actual OEM stuff, not some shitty knock-offs. Pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() I plan to get them on around the same time my tax return comes in. I still need to get some plug and play harness's to get them to work with the 05-07 wiring(Id rather not mess with wires, its only like $5 a pop for one). HID's will also be coming some time in the near future. Its a toss between 5000 and 6000K.. ![]() In other news, someone local is selling some brand new TRD springs for $100.If I still have the money by next week ill try to pick those up as well.

I would just keep checking eBay. You could try posting a wanted ad on one of the scion sites.

Btw. In still trying to figure out what I want for my tint. I was thinking 35% on both doors and the rear quarter panels windows(MO legal). Followed by 20% in the rear.
I would like to keep it uniform on the sides, so it doesn't make it look weird. Thoughts? Opinions? Edit: Should have clarified that in MO you cant go any darker than 35% in front. Other than that you can have any % you like elsewhere. Sent from AutoGuide.com Free App Last edited by HEATHB4R; 02/02/2013 at 07:58 PM. |

I had my tint get checked while being pulled over by a state trooper, luckily I'm above the limit so he could only write me up for exhaust. That was when I had a massiveexhaust leak/severed pipe BTW.. and the cop was just a mad bro I guess. IMO I'd stay legal in the front but do like 15%-20% in the rear windows and back glass.

Thanks man. That's what I was leaning towards. I guess I would do 35 on the fronts, and 20% on the rear. I would like to keep the sides as uniform as possible.

Damn, really? Now i realize they are different cars, but from what i've been reading people are actually complaining that they are pretty stiff.
![]() TRD's not too much of a drop, but still looks good. While they have been said to be designed to work on the stock struts, I would rather get TRD struts as well. Edit: Nevermind. It was his specific setup, not the TRD springs. Last edited by HEATHB4R; 02/05/2013 at 12:52 PM. |

. I actually used a YouTube video from Spyder Auto; they may make crappy products but they do have great how to videos. Anyways, taking it apart was easy as hell, it was putting it all back together with the splash guards that made it a PITA. What kind of headlights did you put in? Pics anywhere? They do make OEM style aftermarket for the sedan headlights. There's probably not much support because everything produced aftermarket is no where near up to par with the oem setup and everyone would bitch about it. I see a HUGE quality difference in the light out put. Kinda the same with any aftermarket headlight really. |

Get some Morimoto stuff from TRS or someone here.
http://legacygt.com/forums/showthrea...s-180489.html? You can actually see how crappy the DDM and others stuff is.

Just get coils, browse ScionLife, they are going for cheap. I almost bought some for my cousins TC for 500. Get VRD fogs, those are the ones you are talking about that go into the little opening in the bumper. Go to MengMotorsports and get them, comes with everything you need, brackets, wire, switch, and bulbs.

I appreciate the input tulesto and raman. I was rethinking my whole lowering plan. Nothing will be done in that department until my Birthday in July. I'll have plenty of time to sort it out and make a plan.

They are KYB GR2/Excel-G shocks. I'm guessing by your question that they would probably not be designed to run on lowered springs?
Edit: Just answered my own question, they're just OE replacements... Fuck Sent from AutoGuide.com Free App Last edited by HEATHB4R; 02/27/2013 at 02:42 PM. |

Small little update: New custom made OEM grille. I went from OEM to what's called a 'VRD' grille; to finally a custom made badge less OEM style grille using the bottom portion of the original grill. Its then flipped and cut to fit into the chrome piece. Finally it's held on by cutting holes into the grille outline and running small zip ties to secure it and providing a badge less look but still OEM. I was going to make one, but a very nice one popped up on a F/S thread for cheap.
Thoughts? More plans later this summer when I'll have been working 40+ hours and have money to use for mods. OEM: ![]() VRD: ![]() Custom OEM: ![]() ![]() Sent from AutoGuide.com Free App |

The pure plastic VRD wasn't fitting right because its a cheap copy of what was once a very expensive metal set. I believe they were being made for a few years after the initial tC release but then eBay vendors started making knock offs. The real ones were going for $1000+ on eBay alone. I paid about 60 shipped for mine.
Keep in mind if I decide to go with a blacked out look; I could always plasti-dip the chrome part easily. I'm planning on getting a front lip and hopefully lowered by summers end. Sent from AutoGuide.com Free App |
