A friend of mine works at the local Mitsu dealership and mentioned to me there was an 05 Endeavor having the engine replaced due to a snapped timing belt. With the only purchase cost of this engine being the core charge, I snagged it up immediately. I began the 75 swap after weeks of ordering, pulling, and prepping the parts. Once I had everything necessary, I used four 12 hour days to port the heads/intakes and assemble and paint the entire engine. I only took a few pictures since I was moving so fast and at the time didn't consider creating a "Members Ride" post. Here are the few that I do have:

In mid-October I was offered a silver 03 GT sporty as a parts car that had a seized engine. The car was originally from Florida and was in great shape with minimal rust. I began transferring all parts worth anything over from my red 00 GT and returning it to stock.

The seized engine

The 75

I found out first hand that the 00 auto tranny does not work with an 03 ecu/harness... Both trannys had to be swapped back! Here is my current 03 GT as it sits. Cosmetically it could use new bumpers and a new hood, but as of right now looks are not my main concern.

Before swapping the 75 in the 00 I ran a 15.7@90mph with a 60' of 2.436. I have no 1/4 times with the swap and I have yet to see a dyno.

Dyno results while fwd and on pump gas: 222whp/236wtq

Fwd rear end pulled out

Rear knuckles painted and ES bushings pressed in

Rear subframe with diff

Rear LSD

Upper control arms and trailing arms painted, ES bushings pressed in

Rear end put together

Mock up of the transmission and t case

Out with the old.. in with the new

Found my flex plate cracked in 3 places after removing the fwd transmission

Subframe notched for t case

Rear transmission mount lower holes need tapping

Lower holes tapped

T case fitted

K Sport Kontrol coil overs

Rear end installed

Tunnel pic

Rear OBX header installed

Transmission cooler

Transmission sits exactly like its fwd counterpart

Gas tank cleaned and getting wired up

GSX gas tank harness wired in

Custom 2 piece driveshaft getting installed

Straight iron to mount carrier bearing in tunnel

Brembos installed

I haven't been keeping up with this thread so it's time I check back in. A lot has changed since my last update. Off the top of my head:

- Evo 8 560 injectors
- Tuned on e85
- ES LCA bushings
- MB Weapon rims
- Cooper RS3-s tires

I dyno'ed in late December @ 222whp/236wtq on pump gas and ran a 1/4mi of 14.2@99. I'm working on a 3g project that's a bit more exciting now.. pics on their way!

Lots of updates and awd swap pics. I hope they clear up some of the confusion that's been cast over the swap as I've only seen one other successful v6 awd swap on the forums.

Shift maps? I have yet to see any sort of transmission tables defined in an auto rom. If you know of some then please point me in the direction of them asap!

The new GReddy Type-Rz BOV is in and works great.

I made it out to the track this last weekend to see where I'm at and have some exciting times!

This was my best pass of the weekend with all the other passes very close in time. I even won a trophy for my class I competed in!

My spring tensioner was maxed out so I had belt slip and was only on 4psi. After some adjustments I was back up to 7psi but then hit fuel cut on the stock GSX pump which led me to cutting out my floor to install this...

I also installed my fancy new Mishimoto radiator.

My most recent engine bay pic. The radiator fans have now been swapped to pushers and the intake filter was able to drop down about 6 inches to hide behind the tranny for hopefully cooler incoming air.

Along with the other small tweaks here and there, I re-aligned my car and was able to get rid of quite a bit of negative camber in both the front and rear for firmer, square tire planting during launches. The toe was off, especially in the front right, because of the new lower control arm. This sheet doesn't show prior to re-rolling the car from the first rear camber adjustment. It was about a half degree difference on both sides.

Another update. I finally installed my FrozenBoost water to air setup that sat in my house for weeks. It took an overwhelming amount of cutting into the bumper to fit the massive 24"x7"x4.5" radiator, but it came out great and I can't wait to see what kind of numbers it can produce. I'm crossing my fingers for a chance to dyno before the snow flies. Here are a few pictures of the install.

Intercooler

Bumper removed. Then the brackets for the radiator were measured and welded to the crash bar/core support

Final product

Thanks all! I really appreciate the kind words and recognition. This car has come a long way from where it started and will only continue to improve for as long as I own it.

After I figure out the last few kinks I've been having with it and the weather has cleared up, it'll be dyno day again. Stay tuned!

When can we exchange rides? I've been thinking lately how badass a turbo 3.8 awd would be. Especially with the auto

Haha you wish! With my 3k stall converter I can easily spool a big turbo from a launch so that would be my ideal setup. I won't say too much but after I get a dyno with the sds I'll be posting some BIG updates. Stay tuned

Well, I've had some time to work on the car and have a few updates. I pulled the seats, carpet, and dash out and scraped all insulation off the floors/firewall. I also removed the dash pad and firewall pad and a few brackets in the dash. All together it added up to 43lbs! The insulation in the trunk and under the rear seats added up to another 13lbs. I have a few more plans for weight reduction and I hope it helps achieve an awesome time at the drag strip this year.

My other update is that I swapped my GReddy Type-RZ BOV for a Synapse Synchronic BOV. This has helped my idle quite a bit and so far I'm very happy with it. Best of all, after selling my GReddy BOV through eBay it's only costing me $70 for the upgrade.

Floor is scraped and needs vacuuming before being coated

Buckets full of removed insulation and brackets

New fuel rails, new BOV, and engine bay cleaned up

Murkrow's 03 GT and the quest for power

Forgive me if this is redundant post, but I see you've got the 2.0 Tactrix for ECUFlash.... are you using Big Maps for your ROM?

Nope I'm on the 80940003 auto rom. No counts of knock past 160 load (logging maxes out at 160) and fuel and timing tables follow all the way up.

But isn't that a version of the big maps? I thought the load also maxes out at 160 all the big map roms. Otherwise you simply have a stock ROM that the ECU can only read up to 100 in terms of load.

All roms can read over 300% load. Even a stock one. Just has to pull in enough air to compute the percentage. The timing and fueling tables max at 100 and 1byte logging maxed at 159% and 1593Hz but that doesn't mean it caps the signal. The ecu scales "into the dark" once you pass the limited on what you can see. Set up 2byte load and airflow to see everything the ecu can read.

The only difference between big maps and a stock Rom is that the xml is more complete and the timing and fueling maps expanded. The only "limit" present is found in a table that limits the maximum maf Hz signal the ecu will accept at a given rpm. This table is present in big maps so I had Brodsky track it down in his Rom and put the same values in. As a result he has no limit on air flow.

I max the 482 maf at 3400Hz (over 320% load) and that occurs around 5k, I actually peak air flow around 6500 but it can't meter it so it's literally tuned into the dark. 3400 is all the chip is capable of producing. You can port the maf to bring the signal down and meter more air (mines heavily modified).

But no. Big maps is not necessary for boost. Just have to find the limit table and raise the limit. Joeys NA 6g75 that ran 13.3 does 146% load. Stock Rom. While the expanded maps are ideal for covering the huge range of load, for guys like Brodsky who don't have it yet shouldn't see it as a project ending road block.

Load as calculated in our ecus is a measure of standardized volumetric efficiency. The ecu reads in the maf signals and calculates volume of airflow based on the size of the maf. It compares this value to a standard and computes the percentage and that is what we call "Load". The signal in a stock Rom is limited to a range that keeps load under 100%. This is why anyone who really went further than bolt ons had lean out problems. It is why most 6g75s go lean at WOT without a tune. For setups that don't breach 1600 Hz the maf scaling and smoothing can rectify the problem because the roms give berth to tune up to 1600Hz. While you can change the left volume in those tables to go higher you lose resolution at low loads where it is most critical because the signal per delta air flow is greatest.

What I'm getting at is setups that go beyond the 1byte window NEED the maf signal limit removed. Although ultimately it just makes life easier because you can remove the limit and the maf reads just fine and needs very little tweaking (unless you mod the shit out of it like I did) pretty much regardless of what engine or fi setup is behind it. I run the same tune on 5 psi and 24. Once the maf/fuel targets are set up you just have to set your timing over your range of loads and you're good.
