My new baby (56k take a nap then have coffee)

I never would have thought I'd ever own a car of this make.

I introduce to you, my new 1997...

I've put about 200 miles on it since then.

Yeah, it's a 5-speed automatic but I got over that in the first day. I thought the "Sport Package" is just some fancy-shmancy package by Mercedes-Benz which just meant carbon fiber trim, AMG wheels, gray leather panels and seats but I didn't know it also meant a sport-tuned suspension (AMG shocks, springs, anti-sway bars, etc.). I love cornering with this car. Almost zero body roll.

Love everything about this car. My very own silver "Silver Arrow".

it seems like the old school box look. i really like that. These new cars to me have too much curves and what not. nice ride man. Im not a fan of Benz, but in a BMW world, id take a e36 over the e46 anyday.

That thing is in beautiful shape (and low mileage) for a '97! Need to polish that hood ornament though

Congrats! I like it.

Mileage is reasonable for a '97 car. I'm soon approaching that number on my shitbox.

Nice car. Keep the miles low and the warranty intact. I just took mine in to get the front air dam fixed (wife ran over a concrete parking stop) and it is not cheap.

Thanks.

It's a great car and I love it. Driving experience is just really something else. It is a superior vehicle to the Eclipse, in all aspects, even "sports car" aspects. Handling is fantastic. Turning circle is very small. Very stable, maneouverable, responsive, and precise. Feels quicker/faster than the EGT, specially when passing at freeway speeds, which is what it's designed for, the Autobahn experience, I guess.

I feel very lucky to have found this car in really good condition specially considering it's age (almost 9 years old). And got a really good deal on it, $10k while its book value is at $13+k (Sport Pkg. makes a huge diff.). It was cared for and barely used. It's finally found a home with me.

Ouch. And yes, I find myself questioning what I've gotten myself into--nothing for this car is cheap.

I have no warranty. Got it from a private seller. And about the miles, I can't help it. It's a blast to drive though.

The Eclipse GT is still with me at the moment. I'm currently restoring it to stock. Luckily it's all bolt-on performance upgrades and I should be done with it in a week. Then I'm gonna sell it, most likely to Carmax as I don't feel like exerting the effort (and hassle) in a private sell. If I get at least $6k for it, that'll be fine.
