Cool Tampa Blue evolution...

... No, I don't have an EVO!!

I'll be using this thread to show the gradual evolution of my 2000 Eclipse GS.
I bought it bone stock in February of 2006. Giving a 4g64 true "go" takes more than what I have the budget for currently, so I've been focusing mostly on giving her some "show" so far...
Nothing major...

Modifications (in COTM format)
Exterior:
-Wings West front lip
-black 5-pc Grillcraft grill
-Mitsubishi aluminum fuel door
-painted VIS cf Invader hood
-Redline Tuning Quicklift Pro
-TYC chrome tails (TYC cf tails awaiting necessary modification)
Suspension:
-Eibach Pro Kit (temp)
-KYB AGX adjustable gas shocks
-RRE rear strut bar
-GT front strut bar (OEM on V6 models)
Brakes:
-Auto Zone rotors w/ Checker (Abestos) brake pads
(AKA "no modifications)
Engine/Drivetrain:
-AEM CAI (blue), Ram Air for rainy season & winter
Interior:
-Gunmetal Grey painted accents
-XTAL clear blue overlays (Fuel & h2o Temp)
Stereo System/Electronics:
-03+ optional OEM Infinity 6-disk HU
-on third OEM center speaker... so far so good.
Exterior Lighting:
-HELIX smoked turns w/ PIAA hyperwhite bulbs
-black Depo projectors w/ 8K HID conversion
-custom wheel well LEDs
-Blue LED hood squirters
Interior Lighting:
-blue and purple LEDs

Pictures
I'll start the photo parade with the first pic I ever took of her:
(crappy camera phone picture)

Then there's THIS ONE taken by my brother in June '06

--------------------------------------------
...a few shots taken around October 27th, 2006. (following a recent CO snowstorm)

Next, the interior.....
-------------------------------------------------
Gunmetal Grey painted pieces:
-stereo bezel
-door latch handles
-2 vents
-gauge bezel
-ashtray

$3 via Paypal to anyone who can identify the CD /\ in my passenger side!!

....gauges and some surprise custom exterior lighting.*

EDIT: A few pictures from April '08 that show the wheel well LEDs to better effect:

Updated pictures.
Modified Mother's Day weekend (May '07).
Pictures from recent Mini-meet. (July '07)

Sorry about the focus issues. New camera.

Yes, still needs wheels.

Next up, some early morning shots I took late Aug. '07

Tried to be "artsy"

Really like this one...

Let's not forget the "everything open" shots.

April '08 night shots. Had stock hood on for winter/early spring, but pictures turned out nice!
So, I figured I'd share...

Yeah... I've got a pair of those stashed away.
I've decided to give the "chrome theme" a try for the time being.
I'll probably end up mimicking Tatum in the near future, though!

haha.... I was waiting for the inevitable "needs a drop" comment(s). Still kinda surprised it came from only the THIRD person to comment!
..... you DID check out the link I provided near the top, right?
I need my "4x4" to get me through like that!!
With that said, I may stiffen up the suspension a bit and get a slight drop with a Pro Kit come Spring time. Anything lower than that is pretty much out of the question, as she's my daily driver and even the stock 4 inch clearance doesn't quite cut it at times....

The gauges are XTAL clear blues I bought from LUNAR along with some purple LEDs. (think I told you about 'em, Jamie)
Unfortunately, the Speedo and Tach were damaged in the mail and ended up kinda looking "cheap" when installed. Reserve judgement on them until I can get the night pics up.

Check out his recent MR thread, and you'll see what I mean!

Wow Lucas you know I love your ride, But I know everyone is going to say drop it. But hey its F-ing winter here. I still say that you need some GT side skirts than your ride will look 10x better. And leave my snowplow alone. But yeah guys you gotta see the night shots of his gauges they look alot nicer at night. WE also did some nice custom lighting on his car that he is still leaving in the dark but they will be up soon im sure.

Car looks pretty clean. Just need to get that thing dropped and get some rims. Sorry again for what happened with the gauges. Will look much better if you decide to finish them off. How do the purple leds look at night?

Thanks for the support, Greg!
Eventually I'll have the budget to bolster the performance as well.... perhaps even outstripping your RIPP'd off setup? ...I'm thinking DOHC head swap with a quality TURBO kit might do it?

I try to keep it that way as much as possible. ....rims like.... YOURS?

I'll get some night pics up shortly. I dig the purple LEDs behind the FUEL and TEMP, but I found the same bulbs didn't do much for lighting up the stock section...even after spending an hour or two scrubbing all the amber off the back...
I've got some "blue" incandescents in A/T/M.... a little unsatisfied with the results so far. No worries on the gauge deal... $#!7 happens.

awww......

lol... I PASSED a pretty li'l YELLOW-ish one on my way into work last night.
Actually, I couldn't resist a good look. I had to slow, pulled even, then sped off after flicking my "stealth switch" off and on again.
I still think mine's better looking than those things.... just wish it could perform like one.
......crazy Japanese auto makers and their "performance sedans"!!

I guess with that "stealth switch" comment I should let the cat outta the bag.... so to speak.
PICS ADDED of my custom LED's!

Yeah.... I like 'em too, Dre!
Actually, a lot more effort went into getting all the amber off the stock speedo/tach.
If I'd left the whole set in, it'd look like this:

(in the daylight, at least)

As for the wheel well LEDs, I think there are some more pics from a recent "mini-meet" that'll be closer to what you're asking for, Will.
... gimme some time. I might find something.

As Bernie stated earlier, the pics can't quite capture the look of the wheel well LEDs.... sort of an subtle alternative to underglow. Enough to kinda catch your eye, but not nearly so flamboyant as casting light on the pavement as you pass.
I'll see if I can coerce some pics outta Bernie that support that description... or take some new ones.
Thanks for your appreciation of the dash, though, Capt. Drizzle! (I just keep comin' up w/ 'em.. I dunno)
You DO realize I passed on the installation of the center piece, though.... right?
There were a few deciding factors in this.... um, decision. Primarily, I just couldn't stand the cheap look of the "warning lights" along the top...and the lack of a "needle stop" @ the bottom.
Plus, as I mentioned, the plastic was warped.
The needles stuck a bit on the first try with the STOCK overlay....
I can't imagine what these would've done:

The disposable took some pretty grainy photos...

Aw, what the hell... *uploading*
.................................................. .........................
Mother's Day weekend (May 12th-14th, 2007) brought my first ROAD TRIP in my 3G.

(My friend joined me, sans hood.)

The purpose? My ride got to meet Tatum (Phat3G's former 3G)...

And ride back with a face lift.

... home again, 5/14.
2 hours before work. Disposable cam began going to crap.

.... . .
Better pics of current mods will go up top...

Thanks. Wheels and sideskirts are next for visual upgrades, certainly. I've got maintenance issues to throw my money into next, though. I appreciate the offer, though. Good luck with the sale.

Also, I've got some newer/better pics of how my car's currently looking. (including its current lowered stance with the ProKit ALL AROUND - Will.) Having a little trouble getting them uploaded, and some are on a friend's camera...

The chrome was a welcome change from the stock (all red) tails - a look I really dislike. I found it complemented the car's color pretty well, but I'm becoming less and less fond of them nearly every day. They look fine at night, though; when I do most of my driving.

Yes, I have CF TYC's. See quote:

The notches for the bulb housing (socket where the bulb itself sits) don't match up. I've gathered they made them different for the 03+ models. Been told to dremel them, but I'm not sure how one turns 4 notches into 3 this way...

Am I the third owner of these HIDs, then?
...or are you just mentioning you miss seeing them on Tatum? It almost sounds like you were a former owner.

Sah-weet! My HIDs have been around the block! (the whores)
I'm considering picking up a set of replacement 8000K H7 bulbs for them. As well-used as they are, they might prove useful sooner than I'd originally thought.

I got the hood as a part of an offer I just couldn't pass up. Put almost 2,000 miles on the ride to get it all.
Glad you like the wheel well lights. I don't know anyone else with anything similar, and I really like how they look in person. I plan to connect the hood squirters' LEDs to the same switched circuit.
I'd like to give my fogs an independent control, too. Did you run separate wires all the way from the cabin?

I've honestly no idea what you're talking about, but... thanks for bumping my thread up!

Adding a couple extra pictures I have on my HD...
