Well today I stopped at Wal-Mart and bought this buffer/polisher for $28 or so and I am VERY impressed with the results this gave me. I had to do the wifes car (Civic,*cough*) just to make her happy.
I've been using this liquid wax for years and this is the best it ever looked. Here you can see on the rear corner panel I haven't touched it yet, has a few water spots still. From the door on up to the front was buffed and polished. By far the best mirror reflection I ever got. ![]() Completely buffed and polished: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And our other car: ![]() ![]() ![]()

Thanks for accomadating me into your schedule and help Nick. Always appreciated! Sorry you are feeling under the weather and hope it goes away quickly. I ended up lossening up the passenger side hood bolts and did some carbide reaming to the holes to help release the tension it was creating in the hood itself. I also reamed out the hood latch as well and straightened that out like you suggested. It does have a slight rise on the passenger side headlight still but it's not all that noticeable. The driver side lifted up alittle bit which was cool since it was diving down. I think that is the best I can do for now though and am happy with it. Guys at work were like "Wow that looks cool!" I played it off like, "Eh, I know. Thanks. Tell me something I don't know." ![]() If you guys know of an excellant spot for some photos, I would be willing to do that as well with Guy since I am going to need a new photo shoot for 2007.

Good call on reaming out the holes. The more I thought about it Sunday night, the more that seemed to be the way to go. Glad it worked out, lookS 100% better now IMO. I know everyone digs the CF hood. It's awsome to just have people gawk at your car (kind of like the guy in the Silverado this morning who stared at my RX-8 all the way through the intersection and almost ran up over the curb)!
I know GUY has been looking for a new photo shoot location as well. I'll have to give it some thought but I think we'll be able to come up with something. Last edited by NiteRyd; 05/01/2007 at 09:24 AM. |

Some of the guys were telling me I should get the chromey looking hood pins. I like it the way it sits actually. ![]()

Not sure if you are.. but.. use foam pads when buffing. The foam pads work MUCH better.
![]() Just a lil detail trick.

I didn't actually....I used the terry cloth pad then the micro fiber one. There was a pad like a sponge but I had no clue what to do with that... ![]()

I think the hood looks great without the hood pins. I'd keep everything the way it is if it was my 3G.

that's why I never installed any I never had any issues with the hood wanting to lift up on me. If you get it fitted correctly and make sure its latched there are no issues. |
