Congrats. +1 for the smoked theme, but it looks good enough as it is

Thanks all, for the comments and congrats.

Motor is very linear and likes to rev, but the real fun is yet to come (turbo). I wanted to do this build right, one step at a time. I have thrown a misfire code a couple of times, but only at extremely low revs (< 600), so I'm doubting its an electrical connection. Otherwise runs great, and should be reliable. |

I've been thinking about this Dan. As much as I enjoy our little "rallys", it's just a matter of time before, unfortunately, due to wildlife, other traffic, road conditions, whatever, someone experiences a major "whoops". (Or maybe I'm just getting old
) Deserted public roads with 2-3 cars are one thing, but our meets have typically had 6 cars or more. I love the area we go to, the roads, the scenery, but I think we should steer this more in the direction of organized off-road (think racetracks) events. I posted a reply in the regional forum to get the ball rolling; I think with your SCCA auto-X experience you might actually have the inside line on how we should best proceed getting something going. |

congrats, well deserved man! I was wondering, does the cam you have in there right now change the sound/idle of your car...like does it have lope to it? If so, could you make a short video of it? I want to hear a cammed 3g.

Thanks bud. Yeah, it's only a stage 1 cam from RPW (turbo grind) but it's definitely different @ idle, like "lumpy". It's pretty subtle though (being only a stage 1), so it would have to be a really good sound recording to pick it up, and I don't have the capability to do any type of sound/video recording unfortunately. As mentioned before, I do want to do a dyno run soon so I'll post that up when I get it.

![]() As best as I can follow your grammer, shaun, as posted earlier I haven't done a dyno run yet but will in the coming few months. The oil cooler itself is B&M part # 70266, available from a number of vendors. I also posted earlier on where to get the hood -> Deft Racing. Hope that was the info you were looking for. |

Thanks! The car was my daily driver from October of 2003 to late summer of 2004, that's when the bulk of the miles were put on. Regardless, I average less than 8000 miles a year between all three vehicles,,, work is only a few minutes away.
